Sammy and I took Anthony and 10 of his friends (7 of them graduating seniors!) and Timothy on a special camping trip to our favorite place in the world.....Pine Point Campground at Timothy Lake! We haven't been camping to Timothy Lake since the summer of 2022, before my breast cancer diagnosis. Ohhhh how we missed Timothy Lake and were ecstatic to finally return!
This camping trip was a special graduation gift to Anthony. We thought it would be an amazing gift to take this trip with all of his friends. And it was epic!! He invited his friends Landon, Carter, Isaac, Raymond, Kevin, Carson, Owen Christian, Rowan and Sean. Who knows when he'll be able to get everyone together in one place again?
We had the best time!
Day 1, Sunday the 15th - We all met at the high school at 10:30. We then caravanned to the grocery store where we did some major spending on camping food, lol.
Hello, Timothy Lake! Set up took a bit, as always, but once we were done, we wasted no time jumping in to fun! The boys swam, kayaked, fished, we all went on a walk to the dock, Sam and I went on a walk just ourselves, and then it was dinner and smore time! Day 2, Monday the 16th - Breakfast was delicious. We had pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns. Anthony, Owen, and I were in charge of the pancakes, and I'd say we did a pretty great job! Day 2 consisted of all of boys, and Sam, becoming Junior Park Rangers! haha We all went on a hike by Clear Lake and part of the PCT. We did a lot of lounging around the camp fire, played the guessing game, and ate tons of food. The boys all swam, fished, and kayaked. A great first full day at camp!
Day 3, Tuesday the 17th - More of the same camping goodness! The boys sawm, fished, and kayaked. They also spent some time playing Cards Against Humanity. Sam and I took our first kayaking voyage of the summer. We also went on a hike, just ourselves. And again, tons of lounging around the campfire, eating food, and playing the guessing game.
Day 4, Wednesday the 18th - Time to pack up and go home! But not before Sammy and I took another solo kayaking trip, just to say goodbye to Timothy Lake. Packing up is the worst. Not only is it a lot of work, but you are sad the entire time. It's always so hard to leave camping and head back to reality. Once packed up, we took some sweet group photos, and then hit the road.....to Packers! For ice cream, of course! A Hauck tradition after camping.
I'm so thankful we were able to make this trip happen. It took a lot of planning, and a lot of work, but what an amazing trip it was! Well worth all the work.
We have had many of these boys in our lives for years now, and have had the privilege of watching them grow into the finest of young men. How grateful we are to have been able to spend this time with them. Their smiles and laughter were priceless.
