Molly's Birthday Shenanigans

For Molly's birthday this year, she invited a whole bunch of friends over to the house for some hang time and outdoor games. Unfortunately, only a few made it out, despite all the planning and knowledge of the set date for well over a month. Sometimes that's what happens with summer birthdays....but I'm not going to lie, this year it's mostly an age and girl thing. This town is full of rotten eggs, and Molly has had her fair share of experience with them. It made me upset, but what can you do.

We had fun with the girls who did show up. Besides, we were just happy to have our friends from AK down for the summer to spend time with us! Montana and Kole spent the prior night over, so Molly got to have birthday breakfast and presents with them here.

After picking up the other two girls who were able to make it, they wasted no time getting in a little bit of axe throwing! Swimming, hammocks, listening to music, volleyball, driving up and down Ownby, playing with the goats, mower rides, and eating were also all on the docket for the day. I didn't get very many photos, which I'm bummed about, but the girls had a good time.

We ended the evening with singing happy birthday and a little bit of birthday pie and ice cream! The girls were able to spend the night, which made both Molly and I happy.

Happy 14th, Hunny Bunny!

Anthony's Birthday Shenanigans

Anthony celebrated his birthday with his friends early, on Saturday the 24th, so that they would all be able to come over. As soon as everyone arrived, we wasted no time digging into lunch and snacks. Chips, fruit, homemade blueberry muffins, and a sandwich bar were on the menu.

Afterwards, Anthony opened his gifts. His main gift from us was a new airsoft fun, which he had opened earlier. He got a poster, new hat, Hawaiian shirts, and a whole bunch of goodies in his birthday stocking!

All of Anthony's friends are truly amazing boys. I greatly enjoyed watching them hang out and have fun. I am so thankful he has such a great group of friends by his side.

After it cooled down a bit, it was time for the main event! An airsoft gun battle! Sam and I helped everyone get ready. A lot of planning went into this event. For weeks the boys worked on gathering pieces for their outfits. Everyone was all dressed in camo, with face masks, helmets, and boots. Anthony even spent his own money on bandanas so they could split into two groups. They had been looking forward to this battle for a while, and I'm so thankful we could make it happen for them!

Look at this amazing group of fine looking young men! Anthony said they had a blast. Even Timothy joined in. Every once in a while I would stick my head out the back door so I could hear their yelling and laughing. It made my heart feel so full knowing how much fun they were having. Making memories.

After the boys had a chance to cool down after their airsoft battle, it was time for birthday dinner - a double batch of my homemade mac and cheese! Then we kicked everyone outside to the tent where they all spent the night, lol.

On Anthony's actual birthday, the 27th, Sammy and I took him to officially get his license! Funny story with that though....we got all the way to White Salmon (1 1/2 hour drive), only to realize we forgot to grab his birth certificate. UGH! So we hustled all the way back to Goldendale where my friend Amanda met us just outside town with it, and then we drove all the way back. It definitely made for a long morning, but I was glad we were actually able to get him his license like I promised him!

Afterwards, we took him out to a special lunch in Hood River, and then we had a Chinese take out dinner with all the Grandparents and the Lucas'.

Airsoft with your buddies, and officially getting your license?  Sounds like the best birthday to me!
