Meet Gypsy!

Molly got herself a kitty.

I know, I know. Deja-vu.  We just got a new kitty, Tim's Kit-Kat. And now we have another!

I must be crazy. But one does not simply walk away from someone who is literally hanging you a kitten and asking you to take it home. *cough* Sam. I'm looking at you.

Meet Gypsy. This one is indeed a girl. Unlike Kit-Kat, who we thought was a girl....but was not, lol.

Gypsy is an early (way early!) birthday present to Molly, our only child who didn't have an animal of her own to love. Now that has changed, and our little stinker butt is as happy as a clam.

The verdict is still out on this Gypsy. She's super cute....but definitely not as friendly as Kit-Kat. Hopefully that'll change with a lot of man handling and forced snuggle time. She is a stubborn one as well. There is no keeping this kitty from doing what she wants to do. Hmmmm, sounds a lot like Molly. Two peas in a pod?

For example, we were not ready for Gypsy to learn how to use the back doggie door, but she had other plans. All it took was watching Kit-Kat go through once, and she was like I'm outta here! And now there is no stopping her. Molly freaks outs each time she goes outside in the fenced dog yard, but so far all has been well and she is safe back there during the day. She doesn't go out at night, she is locked in Molly's room with her for bed time. It's super cute watching the kitties romp around the back yard! Even Leo plays with the kitties, he is such a good boy.

Kit-Kat has proven to be a good big brother, taking her under his wing and given her some kitty love and snuggles when she needs it. Their favorite pass time is snuggling on Molly's bed when the sun hits that side of the house and turns her room into a sauna. I admit, it is pretty adorable watching them snuggle.

Ok, now that everyone has an animal of their own, we can call it good. And so far everyone is proving to be a good animal Mama and Papa. For the most part. Good job, kiddos.

Happy 1st Birthday, Leopold!

EEKKK!!!!

Today my sweet baby pup turns 1!

I remember the first day I saw his sweet face on Wags to Riches "for adoption" FB album the middle of June. I knew he was suppose to be mine. I'd been mulling around the idea of getting myself a pup for months. I'd been searching all over the place, but no pup ever stood out to me....until I saw his cute mug! I wrote Wags right away and filled out adoption papers. I anxiously awaited their reply. When I finally got the go-ahead that I had been approved, I gathered up my money, went and purchased a neutering certificate at the vet, and then headed out to Yakima with my kiddos, dad, and sister in tow. Originally the plan was to just have a meet and greet with him, but the lady at Wags had other plans. She was all set for me to take him that day!

Leo, formerly known as "York," was a smudge over 9 weeks old when I picked him up from the shelter on June 26th. Based on that, I counted roughly 9 weeks back and made up a birthday for him for April 22nd! I will never know the exact date of his birth, but I know it's got to be some time that week in April, so the 22nd it is!

In just 1 short year of his life, Leo has given me more love and comfort than I could have ever imagined a pup could. He has seen me through the worst of migraines and many rough days of ill health and mood. I didn't think I could ever feel so attached and in love with a dog, but there is no denying I love Leo beyond words. He is totally my baby, lol.

Leo is such a sweet, naughty, loving, rambunctious, snuggly, mischievous, silly, and just such a good boy (well....most of the time!) all rolled up into one! I can't imagine not having him by my side.

Happy 1st birthday, my sweet boy!!!
