Lost Lake Camping, July 16th-18th

We had a blast on our 2nd camping trip of the summer! This go-around we headed to Lost Lake. This was only our second time camping at Lost Lake. Timothy Lake obviously has my heart, but its nice to switch it up every now and again.  Our friends, the Myra's, came with, and we also brought my dad along for our camping adventure too! We got the same two spots we got last year. These spots are the best because they are at the end of the road so we only have people on one side of us, and they're a ways away too.

We jumped right into camping fun! Drinks, snacks, a walk around the camp ground, down to check out the water, cards games, dinner, and smores! Unfortunately there was a wood fire ban going on right now, but luckily propane fires were ok. Even though it's definitely not the same, at least we could still cook smores!

Friday morning we decided it was a super morning to go on a hike! We'd never walked around the whole lake before, so we thought we would give it a go. At about 3 1/2 miles, it was a pretty good trek! We didn't really know what to expect. Some parts were super easy, with a beautiful boardwalk, and other parts we felt like we were rock climbing, haha! We died laughing watching Mary and Aydrin have to carry Kylen's stroller for probably half the way! Hardcore hikers, lol. We truly enjoyed the hike. The kiddos were troopers and had a good time, and the views were beautiful. It was worth the tired legs at the end.

After we got back from our hike, we decided to spend the rest of the day at the water! We managed to get a little cove area. The kiddos had a great time swimming and kayaking. Sammy and I even got to kayak a bit with Traig and Mary. The views of Hood out on the water are so gorgeous.

Oh! And it was Owen's 14th birthday! We totally had to go to the shop to get ice cream, french fries, and onion rings to celebrate before heading back to camp to pig out on smores and relax the rest of the evening.

Saturday we literally spent every waking moment at the water. We were able to secure a larger area at the water this time and it was so nice to have more space! A super fun surprise for the day was renting a little row boat! We had SO MUCH FUN with that row boat! It was hilarious when Sam, Grandpa, and I took the kids out on it and let them each take a turn trying to figure out how to row, hahaha. Anthony did great, but it was harder for Molly and Tim because of their little arms! All the kiddos loved it when Sam and Traig rowed them out to the middle of the lake so they could take turns jumping off the boat. It was also really nice when Sam and I got to go out with Traig and Mary while Grandpa stayed ashore to make sure none of the kids drowned, lol. We truly had such a great day hanging out by the water all day. By the end of the day I was pooped out and had to take a nap when we got back to camp just to recharge enough to finish out the evening!

Sunday morning it was time to say goodbye. We took our traditional group camp photo before finishing packing up and hitting the road to Packer Orchards Bakery for treats!

It was definitely a fun camping trip!! I'm glad we got the opportunity to hike around the lake with all the kiddos. And it was extra special to rent the row boat. Next year, if we manage to get to go back to Lost Lake, it will be fun to do that again and to also rent a paddle board or something!

One more camping trip ahead of us in August!

With love,
