Easter

We had an amazing Easter this year!

As the kids get older, they are more inclined to sleep in....which means Sam and I get to sleep in a bit as well! After doing just that, we enjoyed a mellow morning with coffee while making breakfast, then I physically had to go wake the kids up! lol I had their  baskets waiting for them, so they dug in right away. They each got some treats, along with a few items of much needed new clothing.

After baskets and breakfast, we had our Easter egg hunt! Unfortunately, we had a lot going on this month and time slipped away from us, so we were unable to dye eggs this year. This meant we only had our plastic filled eggs to hide inside, and not the dyed eggs for an outside hunt as well. Still, the kids had a great time running around the house looking for eggs. I like to sometimes help an underdog out by letting them know when they're getting "hot" or "cold" haha. Molly was the clear winner this year, collecting the majority of the eggs.

Not only did the grandparents join us for Easter, but my friend Kristin and her family did as well! Anthony and Timothy have been great friends with her boys since they moved here a few years back. They are such great boys, and I am thankful for the friendships they have.

We had incredibly beautiful weather, so we spent a great deal of time outside. The boys played volleyball for a while, and then made my heart swell when they asked for some sidewalk chalk so they could play four square. It was so sweet hearing a group of grown boys ask for sidewalk chalk on Easter, hahaha. I tried to give them bubbles as well, but there were no takers, lol. 4-wheeler rides were a top attraction, even the Grandmas were given a ride!

And, of course, no Easter is complete without our yearly bunny ear photo! I even got one of Kristin's boys for her.

Because we had a large group this year, I set two tables. The dining room for the adults, and one in the living room for the kids.

Dinner consisted of ham, loaded mashes potatoes, potato salad, honey mint carrots, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and biscuits. For dessert we had strawberries and whipped cream, homemade dairy free coconut clusters, along with homemade carrot cake that Kristin and her son Harrison made.

After a fun Easter, the kids ended the day with some gaming, all in the same room! Having my babies all happy and safe under one roof, in the same room, enjoying some time together.....I couldn't ask for anything more.

With love,
Mama Hauck
