Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was at our home again this year, Gma Cathy came, as well as Gma and Gpa Whitten. My sister Sarah, who is living in Goldendale now, was going to come as well, but she unfortunately had to work. 

Thanksgiving is always mellow. We turn on the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade to watch while we spend the morning tidying up the house and prepping food. Everyone showed up about 1:30, and we ate at 3. 

We had smoked turkey done on the grill, prime rib done on the traeger, loaded mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, honey mint carrots, biscuits. For dessert we had berry pie, pumpkin pie, cookies, coconut clusters, and a pistachio/marshmallow jello.  

 

After filling our bellies, the kids all broke their wishbones, which is always fun, then we got everything cleaned up and packed away. We saw the Grandparents off, then we relaxed the rest of the day. Molly wanted to watch Dirty Dancing, so that's what we did! There might have been a round two of food and dessert, but I'm not telling, lol.

Hauck Family Photos 2024

This year, just like last year, I had our family photos done by a photographer friend. She did them the same day she did Anthony's Senior Photos, so she only had to make one trip out. 

Next year, I think I might do them myself again. I love not having the responsibility, and it's been nice having a two year break from doing them, but I'm not going to be able to spend the money every year to have them done by a photographer, though I wish I could! We splurged this year for sure, since we did family photos and Anthony's Senior photos. We will see. I might change my mind, lol. I'll have to make sure to do them in August or September before Anthony leaves for college!
