Daddy-Daughter Dance

This past Friday, Molly and Papa attended the annual Daddy-Daughter Dance at the Primary School. I was sad she no longer fit into her big princess style dress we got at the Dickens Fair in CA a few years back, but I suppose all good things must come to an end!

She was just as pleased to wear the dress she wore to her Christmas program....which is a good thing because it was the only option we had!

As always, Miss Molly looked gorgeous, and Papa looked very handsome. What a pair!

Some of Molly's friends decided that since they are now in 4th grade, they were too old and too cool to go to a dance with their dad. I asked her how she felt about that, and she was pretty disappointed. I'm so thankful she chose to go and have this special moment with her Papa and see her other friends who did attend.

You are never too old or too cool to dance with the guy who will love you until the end of time and beyond measure.

I heard they cut a rug!

A Fashionably Late Winter

Winter decided to not only be fashionably late for us this year, but to also come all at once! Last week was filled with so much snow!! People were going crazy, hahaha, like they never witnessed snow in Goldendale before. The kiddos didn't have school last Monday or Tuesday, and they had a 2hr delay on Wednesday. Sam had minimal work because of all the ice and snow at his work site....which was a good thing as it was nice to have him home to plow our driveway and road!

When the snow was all finished at the end of the week, we had totaled about 25+ inches. The kids thought it was amazing! I wish I had gotten photos of the yard at the end of the week, as opposed to mid-week before it was finished snowing, but by that time I was over it, so ehh.

Obviously there was lots of snow removal via shovel, snow blower, and tractor....Sam definitely kept busy the whole week.

There was lots and lots of playing in the snow too! Snowmen, snow angels, snowball fights, sledding, snow boarding....

And at the end of a long snow day, you better believe there was a little bit of relaxation!

We're due for more snow stRting this Sunday. I'm not sure how much, but I heard a lot. Maybe I'll get my act together and take some gorgeous photos with that snowfall.

Is it Spring yet?

Violin Progress

I've taken violin lessons for about a month now, and it's been a lot of fun! I've brushed up on my note-reading (which is seriously awesome and if nothing else, I'm proud of that fact alone), as well as gotten a refresher on correct bow hold, bow strokes, and finger placement.

I've been practicing every day and loving it. Sometimes I get a bit frustrated because I want to be really great right now....but then I think about how long it's been since I played as a kid and how well I'm doing for just picking it back up. I remind myself to just enjoy the process.

Here's a special treat for those non-judging ears (haha!)....a few songs from my old music books I've enjoyed practicing. (The videos are just audio, no actual view of me playing).

Timothy's Piano Recital

Timothy has been taking lessons every Tuesday right after school since about mid-October. He's loving it! I really love that he's found an instrument he likes to play, and I'm so thankful we were able to find Mrs. Golding to give him weekly lessons. He picks things up so quickly, I'm forever impressed by all my children's musical abilities!

Timothy got to perform in his first ever piano recital last night, put on by his instructor, Mrs. Golding. He did so wonderful! He was excited, and confident, and performed beautifully! He just walked up there and did his thing and didn't even care about the people in the room. It was awesome. Four other students performed as well, Timothy being the youngest and only boy. He was such a cutie pie. He received many compliments afterwards!

We are so, so proud of you, Timothy! Keep up the great work!
