Kitten Update!

The past two months have been all about kittens!! We have really enjoyed watching Gypsy's five babies grow into the cutest little ones! About a week or so after Gypsy had them, she moved them from under Molly's bed to underneath my side of the bed. At first I wasn't happy about this, because they were harder to see and reach under there, but it wound up being fine. It didn't take long before the kittens were big enough to want to explore. First just on the floor on my side of the bed, then all the way to the end of the bed, then the whole bedroom, then the whole house! We couldn't get enough of their cuteness, and neither could Leo! He was such a good babysitter and playmate, hahaha.

They were a breeze to litter train and introduce hard food to. Gyspy has also been a stellar Mama. Very attentive and driven. Not that I was happy about it, but it was humorous the amount of snakes, lizards, and mice she would bring in to her babies. The count is up to, and this is 100% no lie, 12+ snakes, 20+ lizards, and 6+ mice. On any given day there will be a rogue lizard running across the living room floor from under the couch, or a snake half out of Sam's slippers, or mouse guts on Molly's floor. It has just been an absolute joy the past two months. I've managed to save some, but sometimes I just don't get there in time. Others obviously get away for me to find later, hahaha. It is not uncommon to step on a dropped off lizard tale first thing in the morning out of bed. I will continue the count.

As of today, we have rehomed three kittens. Oslow - the black female, Otis - the gray and white male, and Apollo, AKA Peanut Butter - the caramel and white male. It was hard to let them go, but that's the way that it goes. We know they went to good homes. The calico female, now named Nala, will be going to my cousin come mid July. We are holding on to her until they can come get her. Milo, the other gray kitten, we have decided to keep as he is the absolute sweetest out of the bunch and I just couldn't part with him! Sam had originally intended to keep Otis, but he changed his mind when he saw how friendly Milo was. Yay! Thanks, Sammy, lol.

I quickly grew accustomed to having five kittens being part of my every day life. I will miss the sleeping kitten piles on the couch and the tripping hazards running every which way across the living room floor. But I am so thankful Nala gets to stay for a little bit longer, and even more thankful we get to keep Milo. It would have been really difficult, on all of us, to have gone from five to none. If the kids had it their way, we'd be keeping them all, haha.

Milo - the sweetest boy!

Since Nala isn't leaving until mid July, I went ahead and took her in with Milo to get their first round of vaccinations and such. They go again the end of June. This way she will be all ready for my cousin, and Milo will be good to go and we wont have to worry about anything until he is old enough to neuter.

As for Mama kitty, we have an appointment for her, as well as Tim's kitty, Smores, to get spayed. Hoping we can get to that appointment before any friskiness happens again.

Happy new homes, babies!

Timothy's Birthday Shenanigans

It's hard to believe Timothy is 9 now! Usually he isn't a morning person, but on his birthday he woke up bright eyed and busy tailed, ready to start the day!

We had the grandparents over for birthday breakfast. We also had a surprise guest show up the previous evening, Sam's friend Nik who needed a place to crash while on his travels, so that gave us another person to help celebrate Timothy's birthday! He was pretty excited to have a houseful of people eating a special birthday breakfast with him while he played hooky from school, lol.

Timothy couldn't wait to open his birthday stocking and presents. Its all he talked about for about a week. The birthday boy was lucky enough to get a metronome, lots of tasty snacks and treats, a new fishing pole and accessories, add-on pieces for his marble run, blue light blocking glasses, 3D printed Among Us action figure set, a new fish tank (the kind that glows), and a ton of spending cash! What a lucky boy.

It is tradition to mark the kiddo's heights on our family height board on their birthdays. Timothy was so excited to see how much he grew! He is definitely officially tall enough to ride a roller coaster, haha, which is excellent news as his birthday gift from us last year was tickets to an amusement park, but we didn't know if he would be tall enough for the coasters, and Covid had the park closed down anyway. This year though, he is definitely tall enough and I just received an email saying they are able to open soon. So yay! We'll get to go this summer!

After some time spent playing with his birthday gifts and saying goodbye to the grandparents and our friend Nik, it was time to hit the road for some birthday fun! Usually we would head out for a hike or something of that sort, but this year Timothy just wanted to go out to eat and spend some of his birthday cash on a few gaming gift cards. In truth, there still isn't much to do because of Covid. But as long as he got to eat some lunch and go out for ice cream, he was gonna be good to go.

Our first stop was Freddies so Timothy could pick out his birthday dessert and gaming gift cards. He settled on donuts for his birthday dessert, haha. We each picked what kind we wanted and he was totally stoked with that.  Next up was the fish store so he could choose a few neon fish for his new glow fish tank!

We stopped in for some lunch at Spooky's, which has finally opened up for dine-in! Even the little arcade room was open, which made Timothy exceptionally happy.

Ice cream at Big Jim's is a birthday must for Timothy. They are closed for dine-in eating still, so we had to go through the drive thru, which isn't as much fun as going in, but it didn't change how delicious the ice cream tasted!

Birthday shopping and birthday eating done, we headed back home for photos with Mama and Papa and game time for Timothy so he could use the gaming gift card he picked up with his birthday money.

Birthday donuts and snuggle time rounded out the evening. Lots of snuggle time! And just like that, our baby was 9!

On Friday the 15th, Timothy was able to celebrate his birthday with a sleepover with two of his friends! His party was Among Us themed and he was so excited to have his buddies over! Timothy wanted fettuccini alfredo for dinner and he got it! Dessert was chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. That evening the boys had a great time jumping on the trampoline, splashing around in the hot tub, playing with Timothy's 3D printed Among Us action figures, and playing Among Us on the computers.

I'm glad Timothy was able to have a small party this year. Last year we played it extra safe and didn't allow friends over, so he was very excited to get a night all to himself with his buddies. It was music to my ears listening to them all laugh and have a great time. I was happy to see my baby so happy!
