Officially Licensed!

Eekk! Molly turned 16, and that means.....it's time for her to ger her official license! Get it, girl!

She wanted to do it on her actual birthday like Anthony did when he turned 16, but she had her Post Malone concert plans.....and there was no way we could do both, lol. So she had to settle for 2 days after her birthday.

No biggie.

We made an appointment at the DMV in Sunnyside for today, which turned out to be a smart move because the place was packed! Noon rolled around, her appointment time was called, and with a little bit of this and a little bit of that, she was an official licensed driver!

Whoop! That's two kiddo drivers down, one more to go.

Well done, Mols. Here comes freedom!!

Molly's Birthday Shenanigans

Rise and shine, sweet 16! Molly wasted no time jumping right in to her birthday stocking and presents. She got a new purse, a new wallet, a special gold bracelet I designed for her, a car kit with all the essentials for her car, and various stocking goodies.

Since she had big birthday plans for the evening, we had the grandparents over for birthday lunch. Stuffed cheesy shells and ice cream, per Molly's request!

Those big birthday plans? A Post Malone concert with her Papa in Portland! Back in December, Molly learned that Post Malone was doing a tour entitled "Big Ass Stadium Tour." When she checked out the tickets, she discovered he would be at Providence Park in Portland ON HER BIRTHDAY! Sweet! This was the perfect birthday adventure for her.

I heard she drove all the way there, and all the way home as well! Pretty brave girl to drive to Portland, lol!

Molly and Papa didn't get a ton of photos, because they were thoroughly enjoying the concert, but they did manage to take a few selfies.

Happy Sweet 16, Miss Molly! I'm glad you were able to go to your Posty concert on your birthday!!

Anthony's Birthday Shenanigans

Anthony's birthday shenanigans started with an early morning rise. Sammy made breakfast sandwiches, per Anthony's request, while he opened up his birthday stocking.

By 7am we were on the road headed for a hike at Tamawanas Falls. Sam and I did this waterfall hike last summer, it was my first hike post treatment, and I LOVED it. I knew Anthony would too, so I suggested it for his birthday, and he was all about it. Molly opted out, but his friend Kole joined us. About 7 miles round trip, but totally worth it for the waterfall views at the end. We must have stayed, hanging out at the waterfall, for at least an hour. I was incredibly happy to see Anthony enjoying his time. It's such a great hike!

The very best part of the hike was going up and behind the waterfall. Sam and I didn't attempt this when we came last summer, but once I saw the boys carefully traverse it, I knew I had to also.

Epic!! There is nothing like standing behind a waterfall! So cool.

After the hike back to the car, and hour and a half drive home, Anthony wanted to do presents before his friends arrived for dinner. I made him a car kit with a ton of essentials for when he leaves for college, he got a few new hats, and my personal favorite...a little robot! This robot stays home, but when he's away at college, he can turn it on and control it, driving it all around the home, seeing what's up. He can even hear us, and we can hear him! I was thinking it would be nice for him to be able to "check in" while away at college, especially on the days he's feeling homesick.

Anthony's friends arrived at 6pm for a mac and cheese dinner, and chocolate cream pie dessert. They played video games, hung outside, and tested out the new robot. Their laughter told me it was a hit!

Happy 18th birthday, Anth. I really hope you enjoyed your day.
