Pumpkin Carving

Last night we got our pumpkin carving done! We had Grandma and Grandpa come over to carve with us too.  Seeing as they just moved to Goldendale this past Spring, this was their first time carving pumpkins with us! Grandma Cathy has a cold, so unfortunately she wasn't able to make it for the first time in many years. Boo.

The kiddos had a great time. The older they get, the less help they need. Papa cuts the tops and the kids manage to do all the work scraping the guts out themselves. Even Timothy can do mostly everything himself, only needing someone to hold the pumpkin steady every now and again while he carves. I love seeing the pumpkin faces they come up with, lol.

Finished! Sooo spooky! hahaha

I'm still uncertain whether we are going to take the kids out trick-or-treating on Halloween this year or not, but we do have a chili bar lunch planned with all the grandparents. Hopefully Grandma Cathy will be well enough by then to come! If we don't go out trick-or treating, I'm sure we'll be getting in the hot tub, lighting our pumpkins, and watching a scary movie. We will have a fun Halloween no matter what we plan.

Halloween Chill Time

This past Saturday we had a mellow Halloween dinner party with our friends, the Myra's. The kiddos dressed up, we ate tons of yummy food, and we spent the evening hanging out. It was really chill. We listened to spooky music, watched a movie, the kids all played, the adults chatted. It was nice to just sit around and hang out. I think the highlight of the night was the caramel apple bar we set up! I think we all ate ourselves into stomachaches, haha.

Now that we've hit up the corn maze, played dress up, and indulged in all the decadent foods, it's time to do some pumpkin carving!

With love,                                                                                                         Mama Hauck
