May Garden Progress

Surprise, we decided to move the garden.

We were sitting in the hot tub one day and just decided it. Moving it to the fenced area where our trees are brings it closer to the house, gives us space to expand and have more elbow room, allows us to have most everything we are growing in one central location for ease of watering, and lastly, it's just going to like fucking cool having it there. We will eventually cut a whole in the chicken fencing to allow them access to the old garden area, giving them a little bit more elbow room as well.

Over the course of two weekends in April it was all hands on deck to get things moved. And best part about all of this, we tilled up two patches and placed our strawberries and raspberries right into the ground. That frees up two boxes and allows the berries ample space to spread over the years.

We planted the end of April, and while things were slow going at first because our Spring was rather cool, we are definitely seeing progress.

Snap peas.

Different varieties of tomatoes and two different types of onion.

Broccoli.

Bush beans.

Radishes and cucumber.

Carrots.

Our raspberries transplanted into the ground. And by golly, I think we are going to FINALLY get berries this year!!

Our strawberries transplanted into the ground.

We are definitely loving having the garden in its new location. I love looking out the living room windows and being able to see it. The extra room to move around is nice, and I love having the berries right in the ground. It'll be fun to lounge in the hammocks or lounge chairs and just enjoy the area.

Looking forward to this growing season!

Favorite May Moments

May was amazing. May sees the weather getting warmer, but not too warm yet, so it's perfect for spending more time outside. The sunshine feels so nice on your face. I love the lupine we get on our property. I love getting back to putzing around in my garden. The kids begin their countdown to the end of school. And Anthony was able to come home almost every weekend, which I LOVED. We had a lot of great family time this month, and I wanted to showcase my favorite May moments with a curated photo collection.

I am really looking forward to so many more favorite moments.
