The kiddos had the option to dress up for school today. Timothy decided to, and Molly did as well!
This year we've got a Roman, a hot tog, The Incredible Hauck (I mean...Hulk), and I borrowed Molly's clown get-up! Sam was a party pooper. Damn it, Sam, it's not hard to pull something together!
This is the second year we've decided to pass on Trunk-or-Treat and go actual Trick-or-Treating. I don't think we'll ever go back to Trunk-or-Treating on Main Street. Not that it wasn't fun, but it's so crowded and loud and there's something to be said for Trick-or-Treating like we did when we were kids.
This year was special because we went with friends! We met up at 6ish and spent a good hour perusing a few neighborhoods behind the hospital. They give out the good candy there, lol! After an hour, we called it quits on account of the cold. I think everyone's fingers were about frozen stiff.
We really had a great time with our friends. I hope to do it again in the future!
After Trick-or-treating, like we usually do, we went to Grandma Cathy's so the kids could sort their loot and Sam and I could take a breather. Before heading home, we stopped in at the brewery that's right next to Grandma's so Sam could get a beer and the rest of us sodas. We played a few rounds of connect four and chatted with some friends there were also there. That was a fun little pit stop.
Driving home, we were trying to think of something fun to end the night. I think there is no better way to end Halloween than with a soak in the hot tub while enjoying our pumpkins! So that is what we did! It was a gorgeous night, all the stars were out. Everyone joined except for Molly, who was too pooped out, so she headed to bed.
Ah yes, a great ending to a great day.
