Of all the lessons parenthood has taught me, the most poignant one is that time absolutely feels like it speeds up from year to year. Blink and it's gone.
I love taking front porch step photos on the first day of school. I have always done this with the kids. What I haven't done before is a front porch step photo on the last day of school. I wanted to this year because I had this nagging feeling that, before my very eyes, my babies exploded in growth. I wanted to try to capture that in a way I could clearly see.
You know your kids are continuously growing, but from day to day you just don't see it. By remaking their first day of school photo in the same exact way, I was able to clearly see what my eyes couldn't throughout the year from day to day.

It's crazy how much they have all grown, especially the boys. It literally blows my mind. My heart can hardly cope with it.
I am looking forward to a summer of fun with my children. I just need to remember to slow down and really soak it all in.
