Just like I did in Spring time, in an effort to not forget all the little moments that made up this summer, I wanted to do a photo round-up of all the every day photos that didn't get their own blog post.
Because of me finishing up chemo, and then undergoing my mastectomy and reconstruction and all the healing that comes with that, we didn't make any fun plans for the summer like we normally do. No camping. No huge hiking plans. No trips away from home. It was hard on me to not be able to do all the things we have done every summer as a family. It deeply hurt my heart, and I felt like, because of my cancer and how it's upended our lives, I was letting everybody down by having a boring summer.
We might not have done our normal summer things, but that doesn't mean we didn't have fun. We still celebrated birthdays, spent time with friends, ate out, took the kids to the pool, went to the movies, played card games, had movie nights, hung out outside, and in general just spent a great deal of quality family time together.
And really, that's all that matters.
