Sherry and Aleah's Visit

My sister in law, Sherry, and niece, Aleah, flew in from MN for a visit for a few days! We spent most of their time here at the house just relaxing, but we did manage to take a day trip to Glenwood with them, as well as with our friends, the Myra's.

We went to a cabin in the woods the Myra's like to hang out at. It's first come first serve, and lucky us, it was empty when we showed up! After eating a delicious picnic, we set out on a little hike to the water, where we spent the remainder of our time. I deeply enjoyed that time. We haven't camped or hiked this whole summer because of how much breast cancer has upended our lives....so being able to spend the day out in the woods, taking in the sights and sounds, and soaking up the sun completely made my day.

Later in the day, we took Sherry and Aleah to the little General Store in Glenwood. Everyone got drinks and I took their photo with Bigfoot!

On the way home, we pulled off into the Mt. Adams overlook so Sherry and Aleah could could take in the views of the gorge.

During their visit, we also took a day trip to Hood River to walk the shops and get ice cream at our favorite treat place, Packer's Orchard! On our way home, the girls got the opportunity to get their nails done.

As you can see, Anthony isn't in any of the photos. That's because he was in Leavenworth doing work for my cousin, Chris, for the week. So unfortunately he missed out on Sherry and Aleah's visit.

We're hoping Sherry and Aleah, along with Sherry's boyfriend, and our nephew, Elijah, will be able to make the trip out this fall for Thanksgiving. That would be amazing. We'll see!

With love,                                                                                                         Mama Hauck
