Back to School 2023-2024

The kiddos head back to school today, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how summer went by so quickly! For not really doing much, it sure flew by. I feel badly that it wasn't our typical summer. No camping, no trips, only a few small family outings. But I'm hoping next summer will be different. It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that we've only got 2 more years with Anthony....so I want to enjoy and make the most out of every moment.

Anthony, 16 - 11th grade

Molly, 14 - 9th grade (first year in the HS!)

Timothy, 11 - 6th grade

I know my cancer has been an added stress and burden to their lives that they've had to take on. It couldn't have been easy dealing with everything surrounding my cancer, and still doing your very best in sports and school. With the hardest part of my cancer journey behind me (I think), I'm hoping everyone can take a deep breath and focus on having fun and having a good year.

A new and exciting development for this school year is Anthony having his license and being able to drive! When the roads are good, he will drive everyone in. This will be a great help to me, as mornings continue to be hard for me because I don't sleep well. So I'll be able to sleep in a bit, and the kids can grow to be more responsible by waking up and getting ready for school on their own. I'll be taking them to the bus stop, or driving them in myself, when the roads are snowy or icy though. We don't yet feel comfortable having Anthony have the responsibility of safely getting everyone to school on treacherous roads.

Have a great school year, Hunny Bunnies! I'm excited to watch everyone's growth this year.

With love,
Mama Hauck
