Quarantine, Day 17. Bacteria Growth.

Today it is cold, rainy and windy. Sounds like a great day to stay inside and start growing some bacteria!

Thanks to Home Science Tools, we can happily grow bacteria in the safe comforts of our own home. Sweet!

Each kiddo chose 4 different surface to swab. It was funny to see what they chose, lol. I wanted one of them to do my phone, but all declined. Oh well. Do I really want to know anyway? Probably not.

Anthony #1 - Mouth

 Anthony #2 - Inside Toilet

 Anthony #3 - PlayStation Remote

Anthony #4 - Front Door Handle

 Molly #1 - Tablet

 Molly #2 - TV Remote

Molly #3 - Toilet Seat (Again with the toilet...at least it's a different one this time.)

 Molly #4 - Fridge Handle

Timothy #1 - Computer Keyboard (My money is on this growing the most!)

 Timothy #2 - Toy Ball

 Timothy #3 - Daisy's Mouth (She loved it....lol)

Timothy #4 - Microwave Open Button

HANDS! Each kiddo did 2 of the same hand. Once bacteria growth starts, one will act as a control, the other will have contact paper soaked in a few different kinds of soap to see the effects of the soap on the bacteria. That should be exciting to see.

And now these will be stored in our dark pantry and will be checked daily! If we did things correctly and all goes according to plan, we should start seeing some bacteria growth in a few days! I'm looking forward to the kids comparing all the results and doing a little write up about their findings.

The kids are officially pros at swabbing and transferring. Wish us luck!!

With love,
Home-Schooling Mama Hauck
