Hitting All the Eateries

My mom, dad, and sister were recently here visiting for two weeks. We don't often eat out on a normal basis, but when Grandpa is here on his summer vacation, he likes to treat us all. Who are we to protest? lol! Grandpa even has his "Must Eat Here" list. We visited a few of his must-haves, and even added a few new ones to the list!

First on the list, Spooky's in The Dalles! This is Grandpa's favorite, so it was no surprise this is where we went out to eat first. We went there for Anthony's birthday dinner!

Next on the list, we went to my favorite place, The Glass Onion, in Goldendale, for Molly's birthday lunch. She loved that we all went out for her birthday, and the meal was delicious.

We went to Mod Pizza, in The Dalles, which wasn't on his list, but we knew everyone would like it. I love that you can "build your own" pizza or salad. I like to take the kids there as a treat from time to time after a long day of grocery shopping or dr appointments.

We have a couple new food trucks in town, so those definitely had to be added to the list. We got tasty burritos from Taqueria Veracruz, and ice cream from Mom and Pop's Mobile Diner. I think it's safe to say they are permanently added to the list.

After eating at the food trucks, we went to Dwinell Country Ales, in Goldendale, for some drinks and some games! This is also new to the list, and while they don't serve food here, it's a great place for some hang time and a few drinks.

On the list from two summers ago, Clock Tower Ales, in The Dalles. We stopped by here for lunch on our way home after a nice hike. We even managed to get a group photo!

Also on the list from two summers ago, Solstice, in Hood River! I love that they are right across from the river front park in Hood River. So even if you have to wait to get a table, it's ok because the kiddos can play and they'll just buzz you when your table is ready! They have the best bacon braised brussel sprouts, pizza, and desserts. YUM! A staple on the Must Eat Here list.

Last but not least, Ayutla's, in Goldendale. This is the Mexican restaurant we have been going to, without fail, every time Grandpa comes here for his summer vacation. We went there on the last night of everyone's visit.

Not pictured is our lunch to Blue Sage Cafe. For whatever reason I forgot to snap a few photos! This is a new cafe here in Goldendale that is doing pretty good.

We also did not get a chance to eat at Bake My Day in Goldendale, or at the Town House Cafe in Goldendale, which we've eaten at in the past when Grandpa has come to visit. You can't hit them all!

With love,
Mama Hauck
