We have had the same bedding for 6 years. 6 loooooooong years. This past summer our bedroom received a makeover. You can see for yourself HERE and HERE. New paint. New headboard. New bedside tables. New shelves. New curtains. New wall decor. It was time for some new bedding as well. I've been waiting ohhhh so very patiently.
Here is the old:
Now here is the new:
Something white.....something nice.....something beachy. I wanted this
one duvet bedding set from Pottery Barn, but who has a million dollars to spend? I
found the same exact duvet bedding set at Kohls (same great quality and everything.....even with a little accent pillow) for half the price. Score. I also got a level II down alternative comforter from Kohls. Then I was able to find "platinum" colored 1000 thread count sheets on Overstock. Mission complete.
And yes, it does feel as luxurious as it looks. Lucky me!

I did an engagement shoot on the first for a dear of mine and his beautiful fiance. Sammy and I have known Justin for many, many years. He worked in the Navy with Sam and even lived with us for a short while when we lived on Whidbey Island. Then Justin moved to Goldendale to work for Siemens and told Sam about a job opening which spurred our journey out this way when Sam left the Navy 4 years ago. It's been nice to remain connected to someone over the years, spanning multiple chapters in our lives.
An engagement shoot.....what a great way to spend the first day of a brand new year. Here are just a few of many photos from the shoot.

This year I'd like to.....
See more smiles than frowns
Laugh.....giggle....chuckle....more
Get out to ride
Stop and listen to my children more, even when I don't have "the time"
Have less screen time
When I feel like yelling, whisper instead
Get more restful sleep
Enjoy a quiet moment basking in the sun
Hold little hands, give kisses, receive hugs, and snuggle more.....much, much more
Get back to the beach
Leave the dishes, never mind the laundry, forget about the dust bunnies, ignore the crumbs
With love,
Mama Hauck
