Easy Like Sunday Morning

I love snugging my soul pup. Hands-down one of my most favorite things to do.

You want to know what I love even more than that? The fact that my soon-to-be teenager still comes to my bedroom in the morning and wants to hang out, snuggle, and talk.

Be still my heart.

I love lazy Sunday mornings!!

Thanks for wanting to spend time with your Mama, Timothy. It means more to me than you will ever know.

With love,                                                                                                      Mama Hauck

Springtime Antics for the Naughty Nibblers

These boys. They sure are naughty. Especially Dexter!! You cant leave anything within his sight. No, I do not need your help, Dexter. In fact, you make doing every day tasks like simply....walking....SO much more difficult when you are around! hahaha

For as naughty as the boys are, they sure are even cuter. Especially that Rupert....who is so sweet, and who NEVER nibbles on me, and wouldn't ever dream of hurting a fly! Unlike Dexter, who takes no mercy on human flesh. Finn is so-so. He doesn't go out of his way to nibble, but if it's there and in his face, why not.

The boys are all looking forward to nicer weather. They're over the snow, wind, and rain. Basking in the sun is their favorite thing to do. We've closed off part of the big field to allow it to recover from their foraging last year. So they've got their little field, and then we went ahead and opened up the back acre. It'll be good to keep things rotating for them.

I'm looking forward to many more hang sessions with the boys over the warmer months. Though that Dexter might need a nibbler muzzle! And I need to remember not to set my coffee mug down within reach of the fence.

Beginning to Garden Season!

On our anniversary this year, Sammy and I went and picked up all of our garden seeds and starts. I know the beginning of April can sometimes be too early to start work in the garden, and we have gotten into trouble once or twice before, but darn it, it's just so hard to wait sometimes!

First, we had to clean out and till the beds. Since we had started a brand new strawberry bed last year with special starts from our neighbor, I wanted to rip out our old, smaller strawberry bed. So I did that, and then cleaned up the raspberry bed and new strawberry bed. Sam broke up all the beds and tilled in some fresh cow and chicken manure.

Beds officially ready!

This year we are doing little tomatoes, radishes, carrots, broccoli, beets, raspberries, strawberries, lettuce, snap peas, green beans, and I've got a bed with some herbs in it, and a bed with a mix of wildflower seeds!

Everything is planted. And we haven't had any frosts since. So think we are good to go. Now the waiting game starts. I can't wait to see little starts breaking through the ground!

Wish us luck for a fruitful garden season!

With love,
