On our anniversary this year, Sammy and I went and picked up all of our garden seeds and starts. I know the beginning of April can sometimes be too early to start work in the garden, and we have gotten into trouble once or twice before, but darn it, it's just so hard to wait sometimes!
First, we had to clean out and till the beds. Since we had started a brand new strawberry bed last year with special starts from our neighbor, I wanted to rip out our old, smaller strawberry bed. So I did that, and then cleaned up the raspberry bed and new strawberry bed. Sam broke up all the beds and tilled in some fresh cow and chicken manure.
Beds officially ready!
This year we are doing little tomatoes, radishes, carrots, broccoli, beets, raspberries, strawberries, lettuce, snap peas, green beans, and I've got a bed with some herbs in it, and a bed with a mix of wildflower seeds!
Everything is planted. And we haven't had any frosts since. So think we are good to go. Now the waiting game starts. I can't wait to see little starts breaking through the ground!
Wish us luck for a fruitful garden season!
With love,
