This past week we have been busy preparing for Christmas and Santa! We've made and decorated sugar cookies, chex mix, marshmallow corn flake wreaths, banana bread, and blueberry muffins from scratch. Everything taste soooooo much better when they are made and decorated by your babies! YUM!
We've been busy bees doing random organizing projects including going through and organizing old toys in preparation for new toys. We've played out in the snow (Yes!! A white Christmas this year!), made a snow man, had a bon fire, drank lots of hot chocolate, watched dozens of Christmas shows and movies, and stared longingly at all the gifts under the tree.
I think it's safe to say we are MORE than ready for Santa!
Tonight we're going to eat a huge bowl of homemade spaghetti and garlic bread. The kids will get to open one gift each. I did this as a child growing up on Christmas Eve and Sammy and I choose to let the kids continue on with this fun tradition. Afterwards we'll down our p.j.'s and eat popcorn and other goodies while we watch a few Christmas movies. Then we'll write our note to Santa and set out some treats for him as well as put out some reindeer food in the front yard. After all that fun, we'll send the kiddos off to bed and wait for Santa. ;)
Ahhh, it's the little things that bring the most joy.
The kiddos had their Christmas programs this past week. Molly's was Wednesday evening and Anthony's was Friday morning. There's nothing I love more than watching my babies have fun. Molly was so excited and told me she was going to sing loud so I would hear her! I was a little bummed because I couldn't see Anthony while he was standing on the bleachers singing at his program, but all the kiddos eventually got down and did a little Christmas ho-down and it was just soooooooo adorable!! Anthony did great!! I love going to things like this.....it's just one out of a million things I love about being a Mama.
