Mama's Day; the day everyone takes a pause to let Mama know just how kick-ass and loved she is!
If your household is anything like mine, you'll get a few special hand made gifts that will make you choke on tears. Your coffee will be delicious because you actually get to drink it hot while watching Sunday Morning in your p.j.'s on the couch. Extra hugs and kisses will be sprinkled on you throughout the day. "Happy Mother's Day!" will randomly be said multiple times an hour. And you might even go out and do something fun or get in some gardening!
However, you might still catch an eye roll, feet stomping away, or a slammed door. You will probably pick up dirty dishes and put laundry away too. The words "Because I said so!" "Stop arguing!" and "Really? Was that a good idea, or a bad idea?" will still cross your lips because, hey, a Mama's work is never done.
Hahaha
On this Mama's Day, so far we've gone to an estate sale and found some treasures, worked in the yard, and got our hands dirty in the garden. Sammy also took some Mama's Day photos for me! He scored me an awesome old chair at the estate sale and it became the perfect prop for photos. After photos with my babies, he took the time to take some solo photos of me. I rarely have photos of just myself done, and he did a great job of making me feel beautiful.
Thanks, Lover. I love them.
I hope all my wonderful Mama family and friends are feeling the extra love today. Just remember, no matter what your Mama's Day looks like, know that you are the glue that holds everyone together and you are very, very loved.
With love,

The Big 4 is Coming!
Leaping lizards, my baby turns 4 years old in a week!
Yes, the big 4 is coming! There's no stopping it! So what birthday plans are in store? Timothy is a huge fan of the bakery in town, Bake My Day. I frequently take him there for lunch or baked treats. I'm thinking we'll do breakfast there, with some special birthday treats ordered. This year, just like last, Timothy wants to go to the indoor trampoline park in Yakima for an hour or two of jumping fun. I tried to convince him of the zoo, but he's set on some trampoline fun, haha. Anthony and Molly will play hooky from school because birthdays are so very special in our home, and no child of mine will ever attend school on their birthday or sibling's birthday. Ever. ;)
The countdown is on, sweet boy! One more week!
If you see me around town in the next week with my shades on, it's because I'm hiding my big 'ol crocodile tears! This Mama can never see a birthday pass without a lump in my throat and glistening tears in my eyes. *sigh*
With love,
Mama Hauck
EEKK!
I'm not entirely sure how 4 has crept up on us so quickly. It feels like just yesterday I was snuggling him, minutes old, in the birthing tub.
I will forever be begging time to slow down, and I will forever be disappointed when it does not. Ah yes, time marches on and we've no power over that!
My heart simultaneously aches for the passing of the newborn, baby, and toddler stages......

Spring Time Fun on the Hauck Homestead
The birds are singing and the flowers and trees are blooming. Crickets are chirping and the sun is shining. The whoosh-whoosh-tick of the sprinkler growing green grass for my babies to play in is a welcome, calming sound. Ahh yes, Spring on the Hauck Homestead!
We've been super busy getting ready for the start of the Goldendale Farmer's Market this coming Saturday! Along with all our Country Bumpkin projects, we've been slowly breaking out of our cold-weather funk and working on some outside projects and clean up. There's been poop scooping, tree planting, weed whacking, and bike rack building fun! Everyone helps out with chores, yard maintenance, and projects around here, and usually with a smile on their faces too!
We've gotten our hands dirty and finally made progress on our garden - woohoo! After having the fencing and structure built for 2 years, haha, we've finally done some planting. We've got raspberries, peppers, a cabbage plant, carrots, and potatoes going for this year! Sam and I are super excited, and we're loving that the kids are excited as well! The carrots and potatoes have just sprouted, ekk!, and my raspberries have grown and thrived from last year. We just bought some strawberry plants we've got to get in the ground; and with that I think we'll call it good for now. I don't particularly have a green thumb, lol, and we're new to the gardening scene, so we're not going to go crazy our first year. Start slow and grow our knowledge.
It's never officially Spring time on the Hauck Homestead until the trampoline goes up! After weeks of waiting for a new net to arrive because our old one ripped, it finally showed up and the kiddos wasted no time begging Papa to set it up for them. The other day Timothy asked if I'd jump on the trampoline with him. I told him ok, but it makes me pee my pants. The look on his face was priceless! Hahaha
And it's never really really officially Spring time on the Hauck Homestead until we've had a day so warm, it allows us to play in the sprinkler or with the hose and water squirters! This is a favorite of mine....ever since Anthony was little and we first moved here, hose and sprinkler fun on our front walkway has been a tradition in our home. Photos from their water fun are always among my favorites.
Anthony has offically started his end of the school year count down. All the kiddos are excited for the end of school next month and the start of summer. I keep telling them not to rush things....we've just started enjoying Spring and all it has to offer! Silly kiddos.
