Weekend Getaway

We enjoyed our stay at Sammy's Godmother's place, though the visits are never as relaxing and stress free as before we had the kids. At any given time one of the kids was crying or they are fighting with each other. Welcome to the vacation of a parent, right!? hehehe Regardless, everyone had a great time. We had a fire down by the creek and Anthony helped start it and tend to it. That was exciting! He had so much fun and it was hilarious watching Mike turn his back and there goes Anthony throwing more leaves or twigs in. Molly was a sick little cuddle bug on her Papa's lap after wanting off of my lap, haha. Friday and Saturday Sam and I were able to leave Anthony for a few hours and just take Molly to a few stores with us. At night when the kids were put to bed Sammy and I slipped off to the hot tub to soak and stare up at the stars. It was so cold out we didn't want to ever get out.

We headed home on Sunday and decided to take a different, longer way home so we could go to Cabelas. If we had known the stress that layed ahead, I'm sure we would have chosen differently! Anthony flipped out when we went to the toy section and then left it without a toy in hand. He had a complete meltdown that had the whole dang store rubbernecking. Molly wouldn't have been happy even if I had presented her with a pony and a lifetime supply of chocolate. We rushed through the store and were completely unsatisfied with our first Cabelas experience (though we did manage to buy a Wii game and gun for Cabela's Big Game Hunt, yay!). Shortly after getting back on the road we were almost sideswiped my a car and promptly after I told Sam, "Please don't let us die today, I don't want my last memory to be wanting to strangle my children at Cabelas!" I looked back to see Anthony and Molly asleep in their seats looking sweet as pie. Sammy and I scarfed down gummy bears while I played DJ with our CD's and we were able to relax a bit. *sigh* My silly kiddos, how boring would my life be without them? The sweet joys of Mamahood.

Roloff Farm Adventures

It was a long drive to get to the Roloff farm. On the way there we experienced snotty noses, yelling, crying, and toddler tantrums. All was made better though once I saw the glorious field of pumpkins! My friend Jessie, her daughter Madie, and Madie's dad came with us in their own vehicle, so after we collected our thoughts, we headed on down to the Roloff Farm!! There was a small petting zoo with a few animals and the kids had a good time watching them....because that's about all they would do, lol, too afraid to pet them! There was a bouncy house Anthony and Madie climbed up in and played for a good while. They also got so lucky as to go on a pony ride!! Yeeehaw! Molly was papa's little girl the whole time. She sat herself in the pumpkin wagon and had her Papa pull her all over the place, it was so cute! Anthony was feeling a bit better cold wise, but for some reason seemed so dang serious in many of the photos I took. Even while riding the pony it was difficult to get a smile! lol Such a serious little man sometimes.  Molly on the other hand was a wreck. Groggy, snotty, and just overall blah. I think she had a good time though despite a few instances where her eyes unleashed Niagra falls. :) We got TONS of pumpkins. Big ones, little ones, orange ones, green ones. It was a fun day!

I was able to take a photo of Matt Roloff, the dad, sitting in his golf cart type thing on the hill. I would have been able to get a better photo if I had noticed him sitting there before I had walked forever away! haha  And I did see the mom, but we were weighing our pumpkins by then so I couldn't get a photo of her. Ahh well!

That's Cute, Mama

"Whoa-ho! Hey, hey! That's cute, Mama. That's cute." .....so said my 3 year old little boy as he watched me try on jeans and such while trying to pick out an outfit to wear on our pumpkin patch adventure tomorrow!

Don't you just want to pinch his cheeks and give him a big 'ol smooch for being so sweet?

The Roloff family, the family from "Little People, Big World," opens up their farm to the public in October so everyone can enjoy some fall festivities. I had no idea they were in Oregon! My friend Jessie told me about them and asked if the Hauck family wanted to accompany her and her daughter, Madie to the Roloff Farm tomorrow. Sammy is taking the day off so we can go because the rest of our weekend is booked. Apparently they have a sweet pumpkin patch, corn maze, petting zoo, food, etc. etc. I'm excited to take photos of the kids picking out pumpkins.

This week has been a good one for me. I got a few projects done for Molly's room I've been wanting to do. I'm looking to do up a post soon showing off the bedding I got for her for Christmas for when we turn her crib into a toddler bed. The little projects I've done go along with the theme of her bedding. I put up some decorations outside. Hay bales, corn stalks, pumpkins, newspaper stuffed little ghosts that hang from the tree.....wonder what we will get at the pumpkin patch tomorrow?

I've slowly continued pulling things together for my Halloween party on the 24th. Had a few people RSVP so far already and that gives me hope the party will be a hit. :) Got some cupcake decorating goods together. Working on my candy corn garland....more on that later. I'm thinking of being Sammy for the Halloween party. I just need to find a pair of black framed glasses, lol. I'm pretty stoked about it. We'll see!

And now, I'll leave you with a few photos.
