Timothy's Birthday Shenanigans & Camping Trip

We sure did have fun celebrating Timothy's birthday!

As per tradition: birthday streamers, birthday stocking, and birthday balloons on your birthday! Molly was gone that morning because she spent the night at a friends house in preparation for her track meet that day, but Anthony was home before school, and even though Timothy was going to play hooky from school and had all day to do his presents, he wanted to do his presents in the morning so Anthony could be there.

Birthday stocking first! Gift cards, stickers, treats, fun bath bombs and soap, glowsticks, etc. For presents, Timothy received a framed photo of him and his cat Smores, a snack box I put together for him, and his long awaited tact suit.....a special vest you can put on that syncs to the oculus and it vibrates each time you get hit in a game. He has been wanting this item for awhile now, and because of the price, we had all the grandparents go in on it with us so we could get it for him. He was stoked!

He was super excited to try it out!

After getting Anthony to school, we met up with all the grandparents at The Town House for a special birthday breakfast!

After breakfast we headed home, and the rest of the day Timothy spent playing with his tact suit and "hanging out" with all of his online buddies. After school let out, we drove out to pick up his friends, Tuck and Harrison, to spend the night! We also invited the Grandparents out for a spaghetti dinner and cupcakes for dessert.

The rest of the evening the boys just played and hung out. A low-key birthday!

But that wasn't the end of Timothy's birthday celebrations...…

…..We went camping too!

Last year Sam and I took Timothy on a special birthday camping trip to Lost Lake. We had an amazing time despite the rain and 6 feet of snow that was still there! This year, he wanted to do the same, but invite friends to join us. So not only did he get to play hooky on his birthday, but he AND his friends got to play hooky on Friday so we could take off for camping!

We left at about 9am on Friday, stopping along the way to do our food shopping. Once arriving at Lost Lake, we wasted no time setting up camp! Just like last year, there was about 6 feet of snow on the ground. But unlike last year, instead of wind and rain the entire time, we were lucky to have sunshine and an average of 65-70*!

Friday was filled with lots of monopoly playing, sitting around the fire, eating, visiting the lodge, and playing in the snow. The boys worked super hard to dig a tunnel to play in.

Saturday was our hiking day! The weather and views were beautiful. The path was under a ton of snow, so obviously it wasn't as easy going as in summer time, and we couldn't get as far as normal, but we had a great time. The boys enjoyed fining little steams to play in and playing by the water. I managed well enough. I was extremely pooped out on the way back, but the boys were patient with me and we just went nice and slow. I definitely enjoyed relaxing by the fire that evening!

Sunday we packed up, loaded up, made our obligatory stop at Packer's for some ice cream and cookies, drove the boys home, then headed home ourselves. Overall the boys were very well behaved and everyone had a great time. I was happy to see Timothy so happy having fun with his friends. I'm glad we decided to have his friends tag along. Making memories!

We hope you enjoyed your birthday and birthday camping trip, Timothy! We love you so very, very much!

With love,
Mama Hauck
