Timothy's Birthday Shenanigans!

Birthdays are different on quarantine. We couldn't do what we wanted to do for Tim, which was to throw a party with all his friends and take them to the trampoline park. He was disappointed about that, but with everything still being closed, we couldn't help it. This year just sucks for birthdays.

Thankfully my friend Mary was gracious enough to host us for an early birthday dinner for Timothy at her place on the 9th! I was so thankful Timothy at least got to see his friend Trevin for his birthday.  I asked Mary if she would make Timothy's cake for him and she totally nailed it!!! Look at this awesome camping cake!! Timothy was so excited!!!! We ate a delicious dinner of pizza (Tim's choice), green salad, and noodle salad, then dug into the desserts after singing happy birthday to him.

Birthday time!! Everyone knows it is a tradition in our home to put up the birthday stocking on the door, streamers in the door way, and balloons in the bedroom. I know the kids look forward to it every year! I remember when they were little, it was no problem waiting for them to fall asleep and then Sammy and I sneaking out to get everything all set up. We were done by 8 and happily in bed ourselves, lol! Now a days, with them being older, they take forever to go to sleep! I waited until 10:30 to do the streamers (and I'm not even certain he was truly asleep!), then had to get up in the middle of the night to put the balloons in his room. Sheesh, not so easy with them being older!

Even though the kiddos know what they're going to wake up to on their birthday, they are still just as excited as if it were their first time seeing the streamers and balloons. I love it!

First up, the birthday stocking! Tickets for the family to Wild Waves (whenever it opens this season!!) because Timothy is finally tall enough to ride a roller coaster!, nerf bullets, and some tasty treats and foods we don't normally eat, but are fun to get on your birthday!

For presents Timothy received cards and money, some new Diary of a Mindcraft Zombie books, walkie-talkies, a pretty awesome felt fake fire, a huge automatic nerf gun, and a canvas tee-pee. He was very excited about all of his gifts, but I'm pretty sure the nerf gun took the cake.

Tradition calls for measuring each kiddo on the height board on their birthday, so we wasted no time getting that done! The kid is growing like a weed!

Tradition also calls for some birthday photos with Mama and Papa!

Since there wasn't much we could do on his birthday, but we still wanted to get out and do something, Timothy settled on a lollipop from the bank (lol), and picking up treats and lunch from Bake My Day to eat at Grandma Cathy's (no eating in restaurant, gotta do take out!). Unfortunately for us, Grandma Cathy wasn't home. BUT fortunately for her, it was because she was getting her second hip surgery done. So while Timothy missed his Grandma on his birthday, he understood why.

Back at home, Timothy shared leftover lunch and snuggle time with Mama, a ride on the mower, a run through the sprinkler, and a few rounds of Mother-May-I. I know it wasn't the most exciting birthday for him, and he was sad to not have an actual birthday party with lots of his friends, but I think he enjoyed the chill time with just us.

To finish off Timothy's birthday, we sang happy birthday to him, ate cupcakes and ice cream, and snuggled with him for a bit in our bed. That's definitely a birthday must!

We hope you enjoyed your birthday, Hunny Bunny! We love you!

With love,
Mama Hauck
