Happy Back to School Day!

Today was the first day of school, for ALL the kiddos!

Anthony is entering 6th, Molly 4th, and Timothy 1st. Eeekk!! How!?

In true Hauck fashion, we've been ready for over a week, lol. Backpacks all packed up with school gear, first day of school clothes picked out, school signs done, lunch pails cleaned and ready....

Hey, it pays to be well organized and prepared.

As always, Papa went into work late so he could be here to cook breakfast and see everyone on the bus for the first day. While he cooked, I packed the lunches! A well oiled machine we are!

The kids did really well this morning. We've been going to bed at 8 and getting up between 5:45-6:00 to get ourselves ready for school for 2 weeks now. With the exception of Timothy lollygagging on the couch for a few minutes trying to wake up more, everyone was up with a smile on their face....getting dressed, eating, brushing teeth, and ready to head out the door for back to school photos!

Off to the bus stop we go! We sure do like it when Papa is around to join us at the bus stop. Just look at all those smiles. Even Timothy. Now that he's got Kindergarten under his belt, there is no need for any apprehension or tears. We are so, so proud of him! Even Anthony, having already spent a year in the middle school, was nothing but confident. And Molly, she's just a ball of happy when it comes to school anyhow.

I can say, it was nice to have a year where I wasn't stressed out about tears from a kiddo; and I wasn't preparing myself to hold back my own. Anthony in preschool, Molly in preschool, Tim in preschool, Tim in Kindergarten.....the first day of school was about all this Mama's heart could take. I feel so relieved to have had zero stress over the question of if I was going to bawl or not....or stress over having to leave one of the kids in tears.

Happily everyone went to school, and happily I went home.

No more tears from a kiddo on the first day of school? Are they really all growing up that fast? Is that chapter really closed? *sigh* Life passes far too quickly.

Have the most wonderful year, sweet ones. I know you are all looking forward to time with your friends. I am looking forward to watching you grow in all your various skills. It's going to be a great, great year!

With love,
Mama Hauck
