It's Soccer Time!

Timothy and Molly had their first day of soccer practice this past week and they both did great!

After 5 years of playing soccer, Anthony has decided to take a break. While his decision made us sad, as he's so incredibly awesome at soccer and loves it, we totally support that decision. Moving on up to the middle school is a big adjustment, and no one knows what his extra responsibilities and work load is going to be like. So while we will greatly miss seeing him play this year, having less on his plate right now is a good decision for him. Maybe he'll want to join back in next year.

Timothy's first practice was on Monday! He'll have practice every Monday and Wednesday, with his first game being on September 9th. He wasn't so hot on the idea of playing....and when Timothy doesn't want to do something, he shuts down and there's no convincing him otherwise. I was nervous he would be shy and clam up and that he wouldn't participate, but he listened to the coach, payed attention, and participated in everything! I was happy to see him out there having fun! I kept turning to Sam and saying, "Oh my gosh, he's kicking the ball!" "Look at him do it!" "Ohhh he's talking to that kid!" Hahaha

Afterwards, when I asked him how he liked it, he told me he had a good time. Yay! This is so great for him, he really needs to come out of his shell a bit. I feel like this is his year to do that and shine!

Great practice, Timothy! Keep up the good work!

Molly's first practice was on Wednesday. She'll have practice every Monday and Wednesday as well. I played my cards right and managed to get their practices on the same nights, awesome!! Her first game will be September 9th as well.

Molly is really excited to have her friend Montana (also our neighbor!) on her team. I love watching Molly play, she is so little compared to everyone else, but she is such a firecracker! I heard her coach say, "Wow, Molly! I didn't know you were that fast!" Haha, clearly he doesn't know Molly loves to run! At the end of their practice they played a game where it was the whole team against three kids, Molly being one of the three, and those three kids had to try to get from one end of the field to the other without getting hit with the soccer ball. While everyone else is dropping like flies, here's Molly running back and forth, dodging the soccer ball, like it's no big deal. It was awesome!

Way to go, Mols! Can't wait to see you play again this year!

We are excited to see what color t-shirts the kids will be this year, as well as learn what their team names will be. Hooray for the start of soccer season! My favorite time of year!

With love,
Mama Hauck
