Grandpa's Visit

Grandpa's visit to the Hauck Homestead was a little over 2 weeks this year, and we jammed a lot into those 2 weeks too!

We went out to eat a lot! Like to DQ, Denny's, Tim's favorite place: Bake My Day, Ayutla's Mexican Restaurant, Sodbusters, Spooky's, and The Town House, which just reopened here in Goldendale. Yum, yum, yum!!

We took a day trip to Yakima to go to the Trampoline Park for some indoor trampoline fun, followed by some birthday shopping for Anthony and Molly (and Mama!) at Target.

It had been awhile since we'd been to The Dalles Discovery Museum, so we thought it time to head on back and see what was new!

There was lots of game playing and outdoor fun like swings, soccer, water fights, horseshoes, and made up games! We also took the kids to see Finding Dory, and went to the library and park to play a handful of times.

We had fun in the garden every day, picking the ripe raspberries, pulling a few carrots to see if they were ready to harvest yet, and harvesting Anthony's cabbage!

Anthony and Molly celebrated their birthday with friends at a pool party. That was really fun for them and I'm thankful to everyone who came and joined the fun.

We took our annual camping trip with Grandpa here over Anthony and Molly's birthdays. We always look forward to our camping adventures, though I wound up getting sick and having to go home early this year, leaving the rest of them to camp it up with out me! BIG bummer. But everyone had a great time regardless of me going home ill.

In all our 8 years of living here, we have never stopped in at the Maryhill Museum, so we made a point to do that during Grandpa's visit this year.

We also swung by Schreiner's Farm, which is open to the public whenever their front gates are open, to check out the exotic animals that live there. Super cool to see zebras and camels just an hour from our home on this special farm!

On the 4th of July, we headed to the fairgrounds for Goldendale's annual demolition derby. The kids always dig that. And I always did the delicious elephant ear we get to snack on.

And of course, during Grandpa's visit, we had to get in some family photos!

Thanks for another great visit, Grandpa. We miss and love you!!

With love,
Mama Hauck
