Home Made Caramels

Warning! You CAN NOT eat just one! 

*Take note.....you will need a candy thermometer and wax paper for this recipe. 


1 cup butter
2 1/4 cup brown sugar
dash salt
1 cup light corn syrup
1 can sweetened condense milk
1 tsp vanilla

Melt butter in 3 qt pan. Add sugar and salt, stirring well. Add in corn syrup and mix well. Gradually add in sweetened condense milk, then vanilla. While continuously stirring, cook to 245* according to your candy thermometer. Once temperature is reached, pour into a 9x13 buttered pan, Let cool completely, then cut and wrap in wax paper. 

They truly are delicious, the friends I have shared them with have just raved about them!
