The Summer Wrap Up

Today is the last day of our summer. Anthony starts school tomorrow! Kindergarten. WOW!

Fall is my favorite season. With the exception of my anxiousness about this whole school and busy schedule shindig (I know...you're probably tired of hearing me cry about it), I'm really looking forward to this upcoming time of year! I love how there gets to be a crispness in the air, love all the color changes and falling leaves, love all the fall time activities, and LOVE Halloween. ;)

I want to look back on our summer and celebrate all the fun we had!

First and foremost, we welcomed baby Timothy on Friday, May 11th, 2012 at 9:29pm! I had the most fantastic water home birth with my husband, children, mother, midwife, and midwife assistant by my side. I couldn't have asked for a more lovely experience. I can't believe he's almost 4 months old now.

My father flew in from NY to stay with us for 2 weeks. He was here from June 23rd to July 8th. We had a really great visit with him! We went to OMSI, spent lots of time playing in the yard, and the kids had a good time shooting guns with him.

Anth and Mols celebrated their birthdays. Anthony turned 5 on June 27th and Molly 3 on June 28th. We celebrated by having a super fun birthday party for them. Lots of friends came and everyone had a great time!

The family and I took a trip to Whidbey Island over the 4th of July. Grandpa came with us as this was during his visit. Some extended family on my side got to meet Timothy for the first time and we enjoyed our visit to the place where Sammy and I met and fell in love.

We also took a trip to Montana, followed by Minnesota in July! All of the family on Sam's side got to meet Timothy.....and Molly too! We hadn't been back out that way since Anthony was 1, so it was really great to be able to make that visit and have the kids see their Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Grandma. It was a loooooooooooong drive, but definitely worth it. And the kids did surprisingly well with all the driving. I'm quite proud of them. I also turned 26 during our trip. :)

The end of July brought with it a trip to the Oregon coast for a weekend spent in Garibaldi. Our friend, Tim, has a family beach home there and we were invited for the second year in a row to their family crab boil. The company was great, the food was tasty, and the beach was amazing. I love the coast!

My mother, who was here for a total of 7 weeks during the time frame before, during, and after Timothy's arrival, returned for 2 weeks the middle of August for a visit from CA. Just to name a few fun happenings, we went to the fair, took a few trips to the park, and had a nice outdoor picnic with some friends.

Our last getaway was to Sam's Godmother's place. We spent 3 days there playing in the pool and relaxing.

Other random things over the course of the summer included dentist appointments and MANY doctor appointments, lots of projects in and around the house, and a few dinner dates for Sam and I. Oh! And I wound up getting Molly's hair trimmed. Just a tiny bit. You can hardly tell. She thought it was so cool to be in the chair getting pampered, hehehe. ;)

Happy end of summer!

With love,
Mama Hauck
