Cue Madness

The kiddos got home Monday evening from their trip away with Grandma visiting other family. And this morning she left to go back home to CA. She had been here for 6 weeks helping pre and post baby.

That means today is officially the first day that it's just me and all three kids with no one around to lend me a hand. I'm flying solo. Just me. With three kids. All day. Am I nervous? Slightly. Have you tried consoling a fussy, crying baby (with no luck), making a snack for one kid because he's simply starving, putting the other on the potty because she has to pee right now, and cleaning up the spilled juice on the kitchen floor before you step in it and get your socks wet.....all at the SAME TIME? Yeah, neither have I. But I'm sure I will be doing just that (or something along those lines) at some point today. Wish me luck. I'm fairly certain I can hold down the fort.

Two kids was pretty do-able. How much harder can adding a third into the mix be? Total madness?? The only thing I have to loose is my sanity, right? It's a good thing my children are all incredibly adorable and I love them without fail.....I might sell them on Craigslist otherwise. ;)

So far all is well. Timothy is sleeping and Anth and Mols are watching a cartoon (hence the reason I'm able to bring you this post). But the running around will happen soon. I've learned, despite Timothy's mellow entrance into this world, he is a bit of a high maintenance baby. Boo to that. At least compared to how Anthony and Molly were as infants. I'm hoping that will change here soon because I am just so, so exhausted. Like dead on my feet exhausted. Not going to bed until midnight and then waking up to feed him ever hour and a half is NOT my idea of a good time. Neither is the crying every time he gets some gas and has to poop or, poor boy, suffers from some acid reflux. Add on top of that having to change not only his outfit, but my outfit because he upchucked all over everything. Mmmm, I love the smell of puke in the middle of the night.

Ahhh, the life of a Mama with a newborn!

Now here's a few photos for your viewing pleasure.

And here's some from Saturday night when Sam, Timothy, and I went to visit some friends....then had to leave because fussy pants wasn't having a good time. But at least I was able to get out of the house and wear my new shirt and look great for all of 2 hours!

With love,
Mama Hauck

  1. You'll definitely have your hands full for some time to come, but I know you've thought it all through and it's expected. At least by now you've had plenty of practice so apart from nursing it shouldn't be too different with Timothy, just more of it!

I swear I don't know how you do it all Becca, but I adore the way you love your children and give so much of yourself for them.

  3. Survived! Going from 2 to 3 seems so much harder than going from 1 to 2. Phew! Exhausted!
