April Photo Shoot

Here are a hand full of photos from my last photo shoot! This was a hard shoot for me. It was a difficult location to work with because of all the houses and cars around, but we made due. Ultimately, in my opinion, seeing the houses in the background in a few of the photos doesn't take away from the gals. The photos I took of them back at the house in their back yard I like better though. The client got his proof book yesterday so now I'm just waiting on his print order and then I can close the book on this one!

With love,

  1. I think just about every artist whether a painter, poet or photographer wants an honest opinion of their work. I can see no reason not to do this with you.

I see what you're saying about these photos, they're not crisp but I'd hardly call them fuzzy in my opinion. Again it depends on the look you're going for.

As for composition, wonderful. It looks like you got a good mix of posed photos and candids, and a good selection of family members together. The girls kissing dad is great! I wonder how long it took to get the shot of the girls and the dog?

Technical evaluations aside, I think in the end it comes down to the feeling a photograph leaves us with. I get a great sense of family from these photos, and relationship from the pictures of the couple together. If these were taken of Sandy and I, I can honestly say I'd be very happy with them. Despite your apprehension I think you did a great job Bec.

  2. They're only fuzzy looking on my blog, they don't really look like that. For some reason every photo I upload to my blog looses some of it's "crispness" and it's starting to piss me off.

Thanks about the composition. It's fun to figure all that stuff out. Of course, these are only a handful of all the photos I took, there are many other photos I didn't post. All the photos of the girls in their cowgirl hats and the dog were my favorite and the easiest actually. The dog sat well, lol.

    Thanks. :)

  3. I love love love the two with the girls in their hats. How cute is that? The one with mom and dad on the bike is fun. I also really like the 2 black and whites (I love black and white though) with dad and girls and the girls dancing. They look great! Good luck with your order!

  4. Thanks so much! It was a difficult shoot for sure. He ordered his prints and I got them in the other day. Just have to stamp the back with my signature and wait for his canvas order to come in and then everything will be complete (thank goodness!!).
