Happy New Year!

Photobucket

New years morning we downed our warm attire and headed over to spend some time with my horse! Poor boy, he's got a bad foot right now. At first we were thinking he had a stone bruise turned abscess on his front right hoof, but now we're thinking it's founder.....which sucks. If you'd like to read about founder, go here: http://ultimatehorsesite.com/info/founder.html

We are switching his feed and in time hope to see if this helps him. I hope so!! I was really excited to spend time with Tammy and Leonard and I had a great time walking Nik around. The kids had a great time watching....little Mols got up on Nik for a minute before wanting back down, lol. Eventually Sam and Leonard took the kids in the house and Tammy and I spent a good 30 minutes brushing Nik. He's incredibly filthy from spending a lot of time laying down in his stall because of his sore foot. After only 5 minutes of brushing my arm muscles were on fire!! I went home smelling like horse for the first time in forever. It was awesome.

Horse time is a fun way to start off the new year!

  1. UFF DAH! That was a long post! Thanks for taking the time to write it all down!! I love the horse pictures, that black and white one is beautiful. Itsn't it fun to have a handy husband? My car got stuck in the drive way last week (we have TONS of snow, and it's still coming) and I tried and couldn't get it out, Jason came home and got me right out. Jason and the boys were home for 11 days over Christma/New years too. It was fun. we played so many games. Jason called me when he got back to work and said, he missed his sidekick already!! Jason remembered Sammys birthday. We had a beer for him in his honor!! Sounds like you had a ton of fun!! I love to hear about it all!

  3. Sorry to hear you were sick Friday morning, it's never a nice feeling is it? But I find if the night before was worth it it's easier to take.

Sounds like Friday was a lot of fun. New Year's Eve...what a great time to celebrate a birthday!

I'm so happy to see these photos of Nic, what a beauty! I just love horses and I'm more than a little envious you have your own. Although I hear they're not that good at fetch and are a little hard to cuddle up with in
bed. And really...who has room for a litter box that big? :)

I'm impressed Sam knows how to work on a hot water heater, what did he do to fix it Becca? We're experiencing the same issue with ours, not getting as much hot water as we used to. I'm wondering if it just needs to be flushed? I've built or fixed just about everything else in the house but my knowledge of plumbing is very limited (although I did change the drain
valve on it so I'm not completely lost). I've always admired the way Sam takes care of your family Becca, even though I don't know him it counts for a lot in my book. I'm looking forward to seeing Molly's room and anything
    else you two have done.

Now go out and work those guns baby!

  4. Lori, it is incredibly great to have a handy husband! 11 days, that's a long time! Must have been awesome! That was soooo sweet what Jason said! Sidekick! I'll tell Sammy you two had a drink for him, he'll like that!

Jill, wish you could have been here too!! I miss you!

Barry, lol, it was worth it. Yeah, I was excited to finally have some photos to show everyone. I think people were starting to think Nic was just a myth, haha. Wish I could get over to see him more often though. He had to completely drain it and then change out the two water heating elements? I think? LOL
