It's Officially Official

My husband is now the official Site Lead of the White Creek Wind Farm here in beautiful Klickitat County, WA!!! Now, instead of just being the fill in for the position, the title is officially his. I couldn't be more proud of him. He is a great man, fantastic lover, wonderful Papa, and outstanding provider. The kids and I couldn't ask for more. :) Tomorrow is also his 30th birthday. How I wish you all could be here to help us ring in the new year, celebrate my husband's birthday, and drink to his achievement!

Christmas Day on the Hauck Homestead 2010

The look on Anthony's face when I peeked in his room and told him Santa had come as he was waking up was priceless!!! His eyes lit up when we showed him Santa had taken bites out of his cookies, drank all the milk, and left him and Molly a note! Tehehe! The kids opened their gifts from Santa; Molly got a magnedoodle, Anthony got a tool bag with some tools, and the two of them got a combined gift of a Spongebob coloring book and a Backyardigans dvd set. How awesome is Santa? haha! We all had a quick breakfast of eggs and little cheesy smokies.

Opening gifts was SO FUN! I was surprised at how much Anthony got into it this year (last year he was a little grump, haha) and how Molly picked up on the jist of what was going on so quickly. Both kept trotting over to the tree and grabbing a gift and waited to see who Papa said it went to. We all took turns opening gifts and taking photos while listening to Christmas music. *sigh* I loved watching my babies have so much fun. Their excitement was contagious.

There sure was a lot of loot! Molly got her new bedding, a bean bag chair, p.J.'s, a little pink toy computer, a wooden shape/color learning clock, and new pink eating dishes and silverware....to list a few. Anthony got p.j.'s, play-dough, tons of hot wheels with a car storage container, new blue eating dishes, a wooden magnetic year/activity calendar, and a cool kids camera that he's been having a blast taking photos with (just like his Mama!!)......to list a few. Sammy got two new polos, two new colognes, a huge canvas photo to hang up in his office at work (seeing as he has an office now!) and two metal wall sconces designed with leaves and acorns we hung up on either side of our bed. Mama (that's me!!) got a big flash for my camera, a flash diffuser, and a remote timer!! I had been wanting a timer FOREVER!!! It's hard to press the timer button on my camera then run into the photo, lol. This way I have a remote and can take family photos without running back and forth.

After opening up gifts, Sammy went out to burn all the trash while I cleaned up the house and my mom and sister started getting their things together. The kids ran back and forth playing with all their new toys having a ball, lol. It was so fun to watch them figure out what they wanted to play with! After burning all the trash, Sam came in to prepare the meal we were to have....his special homemade clam chowder and biscuits! Once the chowder was on the stove and cooking, we all settled back on the floor to open our stockings. There was a slew of little gifts (my mom got me some horse brushes and a hoof pick!), tons of Christmas cards, and a few gift cards that I can't wait to get out and spend. :) Aren't The Haucks cute? hehehe

Grandma, along with the Grandparents that couldn't be here with us, each got a special painting the kids and I loving worked on in the middle of our living room! That was a lot of fun and the kids sure did have a blast getting dirty! Along with those they each received a photo book I had made of all those family fall photos I took back in October. Here is one we painted, isn't it cool!?

The remainder of Christmas day was spent relaxing, playing, and eating. Chocolate pie topped off our clam chowder and biscuit meal. YUM!! What a wonderful day with my adorably wonderful family!

Christmas Eve on the Hauck Homestead 2010

On the 23rd, my Mama, Molly, and I spent some time making peanut butter cookies. Mols was such a sweet little thing, she helped us decorate. :) Poor Anthony had been sick most the day, but after his nap he woke up well and chipper and asked for a cookie right away, haha! He was ravenously hungry and I swear scarfed down a whole box of mac&cheese. That night Sammy and I were able to get out of the house and meet some friends for dinner. We chummed it up and I had a few Pendelton and Coke's, yum! After, we went around delivering the cookies I had bundled in cute little bags.

Christmas Eve

We had a great Christmas Eve! Sammy and my Mom spent a great deal of time in the kitchen preparing our delicious dinner of prime rib, turkey, homemade stuffing, green beans, and candied yams. We had our good neighbors and friends from down the way come over to enjoy our meal with us. Growing up it was my family tradition to open one gift on Christmas Eve, this is something Sam and I have decided to continue with our little family. :) The kiddos, Sam, and I sat down after picking one gift and opened them. Molly picked a gift from her Grandma Hauck - a v-tech plush puppy, Anthony picked a gift from me - crayola wonders, I picked a gift from Sammy - a flash diffuser for my camera, and Sammy picked a gift from me - one that I had bought special for him that day, candle metal wall scones decorated with leaves and acorns. We got the kiddos ready for bed then Sammy wrote a note to Santa with Anthony. We put cookies and a glass of milk on the table then sent the kids on their merry way to bed. Once they were snug as a bug in a rug, "Santa" took some bites out of the cookies, drank the milk, wrote a note back to Molly and Anthony, and delivered some presents. Oh how fun it is to be a Mama and a Papa!!!!

Spa Weekend

I had a spectacularly  awesome weekend!! Sammy and I packed up and headed out Saturday at 9:00 am.....but not before taking some "I'm ready for the weekend!" photos in our freshly fallen snow. :)

On our way to the resort, we stopped at Multnomah Falls and hiked up to the bridge; something we have yet to do and will for sure go back and do again with the kids!

The drive was beautiful with all the fresh snow covering the tall hill tops along the Gorge. We listened and vegged out to some Norah Jones and enjoyed the peace and quiet of our drive. We made it to Bonneville Hot Springs Resort and Spa at 2 for an early check-in. Like promised, I jumped on the bed. ;) The room was great and had a nice view of the surrounding woods. We immediately changed into our robes for fun! Sammy drank some beer and I broke out the bubbly wine we brought with us and proceeded to relax in the hot tub. We got champagne delivered to our room, but I didn't like it much....still cool though! After the hot tub we walked around the resort and checked things out. I got a delicious coffee and we sat in the rustic lounge they had there and people watched.

At 6:00 PM it was time to head to the spa! IT WAS AWESOME!!!! I got to soak for 25 minutes in a deep claw foot tub mineral bath with Spruce bubble bath oil in it. The room was made all of stone and there were candles everywhere. I was served lemon water and ate grapes. :) After that I layed in a dimly lit room wrapped in warm towels listening to relaxing music for 25 minutes. After that I had an 80 minute long massage with lavender lotion. Man oh man was that relaxing! The atmosphere of the spa was amazing and I hope to be able to go again sometime!

Sammy and I finished off the night with a return trip to the lounge to have a few drinks. He had a Mac N' Jack beer and I had a yummy Mojito.

Sunday morning we were treated to a breakfast buffet. We headed to the restaurant with my hot chocolate in hand and we stuffed our faces with coffee, orange juice, bacon, sausage, omelets, fruit, and delicious waffles with fruit on top.

We spent the remainder of the morning sitting in the foyer enjoying the view through the huge windows, making a visit to the boutique to buy some massage oil, and getting in the hot tub one last time. At noon it was time to hit the road. I was so sad I could have cried! haha

Sammy definitely spoiled me this weekend and I am so incredibly thankful to have such a thoughtful and loving husband!! We had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the spa being pampered! My mom and sister drive home with the kiddos tomorrow and as much as I have enjoyed my down time, I'm excited to see them. :) I miss my babies!

DeWitt Family Christmas photos

My mom and sister got here late Saturday, but not too late that the kiddos weren't able to see them before heading to bed. Sammy was picked up by his friend at 10:30 am that morning and the two of them had a good time on their day/night out on the town in Portland.

On Sunday I baked some cookies with the kids, then after Sam got home we all headed over to our friend's house for dinner and I took their Christmas photos for them.

In a few days, my mom and sister will be off with the kids to go visit some family on Whidbey Island, so Sammy and I will get some time to ourselves. I'm looking forward to that!

Anyway, I wanted to show you a few of the photos I took!
