Tonight the Hauck family is pitching a tent and camping in the yard!! Actually, we pitched the tent last night to get it all set up for tonight.
Why, you might ask, are we camping out in our yard?
Because we can!!!
And we're cool like that.
Sammy and I are camping junkies. See?
It's been quiet some time since we've gone camping. Sad story. Last week I was thinking to myself, "Why haven't we gone camping? Money? Time? The kids?" Really, there's no excuse. So I ran the idea past Sam and the general consensus is that I'm brilliant and camping in the yard is the next best thing to packing up and heading off somewhere.
So tonight: a tent, our yard, the kids. Flashlights? Stories? Snacks? Sounds like a good time to me!

ReplyDeleteThe last time I went camping I found out that S'mores and tequila don't mix (I had them hours apart but still...) All I remember is being in the tent with my wife and having to hurl at 3am, struggling to find the zipper in the dark. Getting out and stumbling drunk down a country backroad in the pouring rain. It was one of the most pathetic moments of my life, no doubt. The moral is, if you're giving the kids S'mores hold off on the Tequila. One or the other. lol

ReplyDeleteYou know what mixes well with S'mores? Vodka. ;) Sammy and I use to make screwdrivers in large water bottles and nurse them practically all day. Good times. LOL
HAHA you are too funny. We stuck with plain 'ol marshmallows last night. Fire ban out this way.
