Molly Is WALKING!

One day shy of her b-day, my sweet little girl decided to grow up even more (against my wishes) and walk. :) For all those people out there who might not know, walking is such a HUGE milestone. It completely changes everything. EVERYTHING! So please excuse my big time brag! ;)

For the past two weeks, my husband and I have been passing Molly back and forth, trying to get her to walk. This is what we did with Anthony to help him learn to walk with great success. We did this pretty much everyday with Little Miss Molly and she would take a few steps here or there (when she didn't decided to play noodle legs and refuse to stand altogether, lol). While we were at the park for Anthony's birthday, my husband and I did our usual Molly pass to practice and show off to my mom that she could take a few steps. We continued this passing back and forth in the evening with the same results..... just a few steps each time. But after my mom and her husband had gone to bed and it was just Sam, my sister and I around, Molly seriously just up'd and started walking around the living room! Like she'd been doing it forever! It was amazing! How could she go from only walking 3 steps an hour earlier to walking everywhere!? Amazing I tell ya! Just amazing!! We are so stoked! She looks adorable walking around! LOL! I can't help but yell out with excitement each time she stands up and takes off. And she is just so dang proud of herself! She gets a huge grin on her face and giggles as she parades herself around the house showing off her new skill! She loves it! And I love her, darn it! ;)

YAY MOLLY!!!!! I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!

Sweet little Molly. Growing up too fast. Walking all by herself. What's next, running?

OH! I always wanted to give a little shout out for Anthony! Remember way back when I said our goal for Anthony's potty training was to be in underwear for all waking hours, even while not home by the time he turned 3? Well we reached it!....a while ago, lol. When he and Sammy went on their trip to MT, he was wearing underwear the whole time, even during the long drive and had no accidents at all. Ever since then it's been all underwear all the time. He gets a pull up at night time, but always wakes up dry and heads right for the potty. I'd say my potty training method has been a HUGE SUCCESS and I couldn't be more proud of my little man. I framed his first ever potty sticker chart and I proudly display it on the bathroom wall. We've come a long way. He definitely deserves some bragging rights! :)

  3. Congratulations, this is a very significant stage in Molly's life. Although if it were me I'd be yelling, "Oh God she's mobile! Hide the breakables! Tie everything down! Don't let her loose!"

Can you tell I'm not a parent?

Yes I may be missing the daddy gene. BUT, I've always thought it would be amazing to teach a child something new. A word, an activity, something they never knew before you told them. They'd know it for the rest of their life and it would all be because of you. That would be HUGE for me. I want you to know Rebecca that even though I'll never experience or feel what you are (and please don't feel bad for me because I love my life), I will always understand how much these moments affect you. I love posts like this, seeing how happy you are. It makes me smile.

  4. :)Thank you. It is such a special time and I just can't help but feel so happy and proud I could burst at the seams! Like you said, it truly is amazing! To know that you've single handily had a role in teaching them a new skill or shaping the person they are to become....

I've taught Molly the "double take." She'll look at you, look away real quick then look at you again (and maybe repeat that step another time-making it a triple take) and smile a huge smile then giggle. :) Yup, all Mama right there. LOL!!
