My Week With Mols

So the boys are getting home tonight! Yahoo! I'm excited to see my two favorite guys and have them home with me once again. Here's Anthony on Monday right before leaving....

Photobucket

I had a pretty pleasant week and Mols was exceptionally good. And I totally got tons done around the house like I wanted and did a few extra things too.

*Go shopping for the kiddos birthday party supplies and a clothes hamper for Molly
I did get all the things I need for the kids birthday party, but no clothes hamper for Mols. dang.
*Get in some GOOD sleep (please, Molly??)
Ok, so molly USE to sleep through the night like a good little girl. Recently though, not so much. What's up with that? *sigh* I slept worse this week than I normal do.

*Teach Molly to walk
Well, she's not walking by herself yet, but I can hold only one of her hands and she'll waddle next to me. Sweet, huh!?
*Get a tan
Negative. I was all excited about heading outside to relax with Mols in the sun and get a tan. Sadly, it was all rain, clouds and no sun.
*Visit our friend Jessie and her adorable daughter Maddie
Jessie and her gal Maddie came over and hung out with me on Tuesday. Then I met up with them again and went to lunch on Friday. They're pretty much my fav. :)
*Maybe visit a Mama who is due to have her baby on the 22nd? COME OUT BABY!! :)
YEAH!!!!! Baby Kara was born at 7 AM on Tuesday to my friends Mary and Luke. I went on Thursday and spent a good 5 hours visiting with them. Here's a pic of me and Mols with baby Kara.

*Paint the bathroom
Check! Bathroom was painted, towels and accessories were bought.....now only a few finishing touches like painting the ceiling, finishing the trim, getting the door back up, and putting in a new fan.

Photobucket

*Read Cosmo
No, didn't get the chance to sit down and read my Cosmo. LOL
*Teach the dogs to patrol the perimeter of our property and put ammo in the gun (for all those crazies who might come around....I'll be ready!)
No crazies came around. Good thing too cause my doggies were right by my side all dang day and would have loved to have ripped a crazy to pieces. HAHA!
*Read blogs and make comments
Done and done!

*Loose a pound
I LOST 2 POUNDS! Nice, huh? It has definitely payed to eat my 3 meals a day without any snacking and to also watch my portion size. WAY TO GO ME! Aren't you proud? I'm truly astounded that I really lost 2 pounds in one week just by cutting things out of my diet and watching my portions. And that's weighing myself at the end of the day will a full belly. Now if only I can keep it up, isn't the first week the hardest? I did slip up once and ate Mc Donalds the day I went out shopping. But other than that I have stuck to my "no chips, no soda, no chocolate" rule. Though I know the no chocolate part of that rule will be the exception sometimes. HEHEHE
*Teach Molly to say "Papa"
Ok, so she says, "baba" which is close to Papa, right? :)
*Work on photos and other photo related projects
I printed and put up photos in the bathroom and on our one wall in the living room I've dubbed the collage wall. I also ordered one of my photos to be blown up and put on canvas. I put that up in the bathroom as well. I was SUPER STOKED to have done a photo shoot with Molly that I'd been wanting to do for awhile. Check it out if you haven't yet, it's the post right after this one. I was also excited when an old friend drove in for a visit and asked me to take some new photos for him.

*Paint Anthony's room a new shade of green
Heck yes! It might have taken me all week to finish, but it got done! I'm excited for my little man to see it when he gets home tonight! Isn't his little hunting lodge cute!? I also went and got more paint for Molly's room and touched up a few spots that needed fixing. I'm so dang handy! ;)

Every minute of every day

It was nice to have more one on one time with Molly this past week, but I'm ready for my little man to come cuddle in my lap. :)

Molly Lynn Elizabeth Tutu Photo Shoot

Since the boys are gone, I had the pleasure of having a little extra time to do a photo shoot I've been wanting to do for a while now with Little Miss Mols. I'm just so pleased with how it turned out!! Molly was a trooper and only got slightly grumpy once. ;) Love my little sweet pea.

Packing For A Toddler

So I've got to start thinking about packing for Anthony. Remember I said he was going with my husband on a little adventure to Montana the last week of the month? Yeah, Sammy wanted to go visit some family and he only wanted to take Anthony. *sigh* Papa and son trip? That's fine. I'm all for it. But I will admit I'm feeling a little left out. I want to go on a trip! What will Molly and I do for a week? I've compiled a list of things I hope to do....

Go shopping for the kiddos birthday party supplies and a clothes hamper for Molly

Get in some GOOD sleep (please, Molly??)

Teach Molly to walk

Get a tan

Work on photos and other photo related projects

Paint Anthony's room a new shade of green

Miss my hubby and son

Hopefully Molly will be a good girl. Honestly, I'm concerned I'm not going to be able to entertain her enough! Anthony is, for the most part, such a good play mate and I depend on him to help play with and entertain Mols. I think she's going to get bored with me! And when she gets bored, she gets grumpy and when she gets grumpy, Mama gets grumpy. Boy oh boy, it might be a loooong week next week.

Ok, so even though I'm not going on this grand adventure, I've got to pack for it. When packing for a baby or child, it's almost like packing the whole dang house! This is Anthony's pack list....

Socks-5

Undies-8 and pull ups for night time and the long drive there and back....potty training will continue, even when Mama isn't around. :)
Shorts-3

T-shirts-6

Nice collard shirt-2

Shoes-1

Flips-1

Hat- 1

A couple hotwheels to play with

Brand spankin' new helmet for dirt bike/4-wheeling

Bath soap

Toothbrush

Toothpaste

Eczema face cream

I'm sure I've left something out....but I'll think of it and pack it. I told Sammy I'm not packing his stuff this time. LOL

Just Call Me Mama Sailor

I have done a bad, bad thing. A real no-no in the Mama world. I am so ashamed I almost don't want to tell you. I have taught my son to say a not so nice word. That word is "damn it."

*crys with embarrassment*

It was not on purpose! I SWEAR!!! (haha, I do swear). It just slipped out of my mouth the other night and before I could take it back, Anthony's sweet little voice chirps up, "Dam it! Dam it!"

*sigh*

I've only said it once! I think! ....Ok, that's a big fat LIE. I know I've said it more than once. But to my credit, it really only takes one time for a child to learn a new word. So lets just pretend I said it once and he heard me say it once and he's super duper smart and picked it up and learned how to say it in the right context too. That makes me feel a little better.

To top it off, I must admit, I uttered a little giggle when I heard him say it. Papa actually had to tell Anthony it was a not so nice word and we shouldn't say it because I was trying to conceal my smirk and giggle. That just makes me look even worse now, doesn't it?

I never swore growing up. Then I moved away from home and BAM! Its like the curse words just dribbled out of my mouth. Did it have anything to do with all the Sailors around me? HAHAHA Maybe. Though Sammy, my favorite Sailor of all, didn't swear much. I've come a long way since then though. I really do try and watch what I say. For one, I know it's not too attractive to see this pretty little gal (that's me, lol) cussing up a storm. Second, now that I have little kiddos in tow, as we all know they are quiet impressionable. In fact, I've actually scolded some people in the past for cursing in front of Anthony. Once in a video store I asked this lady to keep her cuss words to herself. Another time was at a park. I thought that young mob of teens was going to come over and beat me up! Instead they scoffed at me and wandered away.

Mama: 1 Teenage mob: 0

From this day forward I vow to be EXTRA CAREFUL about watching my language. I will take consolation though in the fact that there are way more naughty words Anthony could have said. I'll take Damn it over
shit any day! :)

My Mama's Day

First, lets run through my list of "Mothers Day Wishes" and see if I got any! ;)

*My hubby to NOT be on call for work this weekend. :(
*Well, he was on call, but never got called in. YAY!

*A hot bubble bath that isn't interrupted by children either needing to go potty or looking to join me in the tub.

*Never did take a long, hot bubble bath.

*A yummy alcoholic beverage.

*Nope, no alcoholic beverage.

*New bathroom towels. Heck, make that a new bathroom. :)

*We did go shopping for new bathroom towels, but didn't buy any because they all sucked. So we went off to The Home Depot and priced out a whole new bathroom for *hopefully* the not so distant future. :)

*More sleep.....sweet, uninterrupted sleep.

*Sammy got up to feed Molly at 6 and she fell back asleep....granting us 2 1/2 more hours of sleep!

*Sunshine and warm weather. Perfect for frolicking around outside having a dandy 'ol time!

*The weather was FANTASTIC!!! Sunny and low 70's! We went on a hike and I was able to take some photos! It was awesome!

*No sick kiddos and no sick Mama.....can we lick these colds by then? *sigh* I hope!!

*Anthony and I aren't sick anymore, but poor little Molly still has her cold. At least it hasn't been as bad.

*Cake. Or brownies....or ice cream, etc. ;)

*Lets just say my man is the BEST ever! He surprised me with an ice cream cake from DQ!!!! Now wasn't I just talking about how I love the crumblies!!!? YUM!

*No laundry, no dishes, no sweeping, no vacuuming.

*I didn't do any laundry, nor sweeping, nor vacuuming. But I did wash a few dishes. Hubby did 90% of the dishes. ;)

*A big 'ol hug and kiss from my babies and hubby.

*Check and check!!

*A day off from diaper changing duty and potty escort duty.

* Ok, so I only did about 50% of the diaper changing. And I did have a big stinker of a one. But 50% is better than 100%! LOL

*A full body massage with lavender oil.

*Sadly, no. Though Sammy says he was thinking about it the whole day (course he was, haha).

*No meltdowns, only laughter and smiles (totally wishful thinking!! haha).

*Hmmm...maybe only a handful of little meltdowns? :) The kiddos were extremely good up until Home Depot. Then they got antsy. Ah well!

*Breakfast in bed. Pancakes, please!

* I didn't eat in bed, but I did have a scrumptious pancake breakfast! Along with hash browns and little smokies. Delicious.

Yes, I had a fantastic Mothers Day!
Sammy took some pictures of me and the kids for me. They turned out sweet. :)

We've always loved hiking, but haven't been able to get out and do it much lately. So I was stoked we went for a hike yesterday! Not very far, just a ways in the woods from our house and then over to visit our neighbors. Anthony loves looking at their horses. On our hike I was able to take some great photos of some flowers (I'm saving these photos for My Photo Tuesday tomorrow!!!) and the kids.

After our hike, we had a PB&J lunch. Yummy! LOL Then we hopped in the car and hit the road for a leisurely drive down this one back country road. It was beautiful. The kids fell asleep so we jumped out and were able to take a few more photos. We ended up at Home Depot where we fawned over new bathroom things and mentally added them to our wish list. Fun!

The day was topped off with a card from my hubby, a card from my kiddos, and a surprise ice cream cake from DQ! SWEET!!

Anthony and Molly...

You are my greatest source of joy
And my greatest source of love
How did I get so lucky

To be the Mama of you two?

Each day I rise to see your smiles

I humbly thank the Lord above

My heart rests in your sweet little palms

I would be nothing without you

With all my love,

The Good, The Bad, And The Snot, Puke, And Poo

So, I'm back home!! Got in last night. I had a looooooong (note the extra o's - lol) couple of days. I always enjoy visiting my family very much, but as with any trip, when I'm ready to go home, I'm READY.

It's hard to travel with little ones (hard is an understatement). There is always so much to pack and it takes me days to do it. Once we finally hit the road there are so many stops to make for pee breaks, gas, and bottle feedings. You feel a sense of relief once you reach your destination, but then there is so much to unpack and set up! Blow up mattress, blankets, pillows, pack-n-play, toys, toiletries, etc. Parenting in a house different than your own posses its own challenges. This can go without examples because if you're a Mama, you know what I mean and I bet you're already nodding your head!

Here are the downers of the trip:

* I forgot my camera. I KNOW I KNOW!!! How could I? So I have no adorable photos to show you of our trip right now. Hopefully my Mother will make up a disk for me so eventually I can show you our cute mugs.

*Anthony had a pretty bad stomach ache Saturday evening. I sat up in bed with him resting against me for a few hours as he wiggled around and cried with discomfort. :( He also developed a head cold. Boy oh boy is he a sad little puppy when sick. We were less than an hour away from home yesterday when he threw up in the car. PB&J and french fries smells disgusting by the way. I jumped into the back seat to, I don't know, help? And got puke splatter all over me. This morning he has managed to get a bout of diarrhea. I've already cleaned up a mess which involved rinsing out runny poo from undies in the shower. :( Poor little man. Today is going to be a long day...

*Molly made friends with my Aunt's kitty....until Molly tripped and fell on the kitty scaring her so bad she attacked Molly and bit her hand. She wailed for what seemed like forever while my mother tried to console her. I know it sound mean, but I couldn't help but laugh. The way the kitty batted Molly's head was seriously hilarious. And in the end the bite wasn't all that bad and isn't infected or anything. You know, you'd think she'd want to leave the kitty alone after that. Not so! I spent much time trying to keep the two separated to avoid future conflict after that, lol. Molly is now sick as well. She didn't sleep well at all last night and currently has snot dripping down her face. She must think it tastes lovely because when I can't get a tissue to her nose fast enough, she proceeds to lick it. Yummy.

*I slept worth poop all 5 nights. The air mattress I was on had a leak so I'd have to wake up in the night to fill it back up. pretty annoying. I've got a terrible back and neck ache. And Anthony moves around so much in his sleep, I'd wake up with an elbow in my face and a foot in my belly. Guess no matter what you never sleep as well as you do in your own bed! :) I developed two pimples just in time for my grandma's surprise birthday party. I had a headache the whole way home yesterday and had to keep popping Excedrin which also made me feel nauseous. Anthony throwing up didn't help that any. And now I'M SICK. *sigh* No big worries though. Sickness goes around. I feel bad for my poor Aunt because she was sick while we stayed with her and so we got sick from her. I know it's hard to be the cause of sickness! lol

Here are the good parts of the trip (did you really think I was only going to bitch about the bad stuff? LOL):

*Grandma's birthday party = cake. Two types in this case. A delicious vanilla cake with strawberry filling in it and a heavenly ice cream cake. I especially love the crumblies in the middle. If I could have a cake just made out of the chocolate crumbles I'd be one happy Mama.

*It was great to visit family and show off my kiddos. They are exceptionally sweet and cute if I do say so myself.

*My Mother, Aunt, and I took the kids to an inside bounce house. It had a few blow up bouncers and two pretty cool blow up obstacle courses. I had a grand time bouncing around holding molly and watching Anthony be launched in the air! ;) I didn't feel guilty at all that I was playing too. Even when I got a few odd looks from other parents. I can only imagine how jealous they were! HAHA

*I got to go to a mall. Where I live there are no malls for miles and miles and miles and.....
Even though I only went to Bath And Body Works, it was great to just step foot in a mall. Oh, I went to Orange Julius too and got a berry something something julius. Delicious. From there we went to Target and I got Cutie Molly a swing to hang on our tree. I'm so excited to put it up!!

*Anthony and Molly got a few early b-day gifts from their Great Grandma. Sweet!!

*Anthony went ALL DAY, EVERY DAY WITHOUT A DIAPER!!!!! (with the exception of night time of course). Could this be the dawn of a new day? I'm so proud of him!

I managed to get everything unpacked and put away last night. So other than some laundry and dishes, there isn't much to do. Sammy was so sweet and made sure the house was all picked up and cleaned for when I got home. He made sure to tell me he swept the floors 2x a day. What a great man! ;) The goal for today between all the snot wiping and *hopefully* no more poop messes, is to sit back and relax. I think I've gained a few pounds from stress eating (and all the cake). LOL I'm waiting on nap time for the kids so I can go take a long hot shower.

With love,
Mama Hauck
